nah, sheldon was annoying and self entitled. In the context of all 9 seasons- Brick is a much better human.

I think you've hit on it exactly. She was a member of a much more upscale family in "Raymond" and never looked as dolled up with the hair and makeup as she does on "The Middle." On the other hand, the actress who plays her daughter, Sue, deserves an Emmy for her utter lack of vanity. She's the most fearless female performer on television today.

Coincidently Ray Romano appeared in an episode later on and Doris Roberts who played Ray’s mom also appeared as Brick’s third grade teacher.

Ummm look how Patricia wears her hair on red carpets and look how she wears it as Frankie... That tacky do she has on The Middle is NOT an expensive Hollywood cut. My mom was charged $75 for that cut at a home salon and left in a rampage because she thought it was way overpriced and looked horrible. It did, and it does on Frankie too.

The mother was the most awful person in the family. The series should have ended with Mike and Frankie divorcing. He deserved better than her.

Very funny show with one glaring inconsistency. How does this financially-struggling family of five find the extra thousand dollars a week for Mom's Hollywood hair and makeup? Props to Roseanne Barr for portraying this kind of character honestly. Patricia Heaton is obviously too vain to do the same.

Hey if Malcolm and Married can make certain things work with no explanation then this show can too.

Sorry if the truth hurts, but from the neck up Patricia Heaton's "Mom" doesn't belong in this family. You don't look that glamorous 24-7 and shop at The Frugal Hoosier.
