    Thank you for this review. I had purchased the NAD Viso HP50 on your recommendation and was very happy with them... until a vice in fabrication...which they replaced... and the replacement pair had a fabrication vice in the same driver...very disappointing... I am awaiting their decision on what to do... So I am happy that you recommend the Meze 99 as a better quality headphone so I can trade up while I await Nad's decision. Your reviews are excellent as always.

    +abnr1983 If you like the look of the headphones then I would highly recommend them. The sound that is partnered with the aesthetic is wonderful as Tyll said. A few other great headphones around that price range are Phillips Fidelio x2, V Moda Crossfade M-100, AKG K7xx, and if you could splurge around $100 more I HIGHLY recommend a pair of Fostex/Massdrop Th-x00's. They sound extra lovely. Coming from a past owner of m50x's, Any of the headphones I recommended or the Meze 99 classics are a clear upgrade.

Are we talking about the same bass as the first Senn Momentums? I had a pair and I found the bass on the momentums to be too loose and not very detailed/articulated. Do you think the Meze 99 performs better at this? Cheers! Jurgen

    Hello to everyone, I was wondering how meze 99 classics compare to p7 wireless? I really need to buy some good headphone for home and travel to work. 1.Which one sound better? 2. Have better bass? 3.Which one will sound better on smartphone? Moustly I listen to jazz, funk, classic, latin, house music. Anyway, thank you. :)

  • @adeypoos

    @adeypoos

    6 жыл бұрын

    I listened to the B&W P7 wireless but wasn't convinced by the bass on them, as it seemed a bit loose, even in wired mode. The Meze 99C's are warm in the bass as well, but have a more natural sound overall. Don't get me wrong, you wouldn't be disappointed with the P7's and if you're travelling a lot, you may prefer the wireless option, but sonically I feel the Meze's are worth putting up with the wire for. Horses for courses though!

    I have both.. depends on which model of meze pads u have. I have the old pads and the revised pads for the meze. With the old pads I think the meze wins in smoothness and just overall fun. The nieuwer thicker pads dial back the mid-range a little much and that gives them a more boomy character. They are way more uncomfortable with the old pads though I have really small ears so I manage somehow but they aren't super comfy. If u plan on eq-ing u can get some mid-range back and youll probably be happy with the performance.

    +Cody Jacques HD650. Period. Scales like mad, is comfy, and presents a sound stage much closer to speakers than most other headphones. AND that's all before getting a balanced cable. For reference, I also own HE-6, HE-500, Alpha Dogs, HD650, DT880, 64 Audio Adel U8, TH-X00, MA900. Source is custom computer with Gumby and Liquid Carbon balanced. If I had to live with one headphone it would be the HD650.

  • @karias-k

    +CPRod1gy I would go with the HD600 or the HD650 too, but to think about it, it's the only headphone you'll live with for the rest of your life. This includes travelling, which needs isolation and low impedance, so maybe in the end I'd probably push the budget a little for a Noble Savant.

    Aman Kumar they actually messed up my order and sent me meat claws!? So i just broke in the pads by putting them in my pockets while walking, and left them under books at night, and that seemed to help a lot. If I move the headphones back on my head till the pads are about to touch my ears then it sounds very neutral, so I just stuck with that

With BIG SOUND we got so much high end audiophile rigs, where is the lifestyle mid-fi love? i have the ath m50x and oppo pm3. i wanted a pair of headphones with more bass. i bought those...i am returning them. i came to the conclusion that m50x and pm-3 have enough bass. i do not need more , or at least not meze 99 like ....on meze as well as on sony xm3 , bass is the main frequency , treble is very recessed . bass bleeds in the other frequencie ,BOOMY and MUDDY sound.i listen to metal and rock , you can't hear the guitars correctly , tone sucks seach sound . if you want to solve the problem to a level , you can via eq , increase 4khz and 6khz band by 3 db...i for one , dont like to use equalizers. i prefer headphones that sound good out of the box. same goes for sony mdr-1am2 , they sound thesame but have more treble , but not the righ treble , the treble that sound sibilant....i am looking for a pair with less bass and treble in the way of oppo pm3... sennheiser momentum 3 had this king of signature, what i did not like was the distorsion , also the sound is good in active mode and not passive (headphones turned off , totally different sound - bad sound)

    why leather? leather doesn't breath like good pleather does all my leather cups get replaced with either pleather of swede - the construction of these are very good for the price and looks? that's subjective I'm certainly not into the gold but silver looks decent enough..
