Honestly, the thing that did it for me was when Stray Kids got onto the carpet (with two, key word, TWO of the members being fluent in English because they're from Australia so they clearly understood what the paparazzi was saying) and getting yelled at by paparazzi (what's new). Getting called "unemotional" and some telling them to jump. And one of them ended up going private because Stays and a bunch of other fandoms like Army were NOT going to just let something like that slide so easily because they are the first Kpop Boy group to get INVITED to THE Met Gala. I'm just glad that Emma was actually nice to them during their interview with her ❤️‍🩹

They all have enough basic skills to completely understand what was going on. Hyunjin is literally out there getting a degree in English studies. We never taking about Jeongin, Binnie or Minho, when we talk about their skill levels, but let’s not forget that they have a dozen of fancalls every comeback with people all over the world. What I trynna say is that at least their understanding of the language is probably higher than we give them credit for. bruh she felt more understood emotionally and mentally than the people of her status and wealth at the event that was considered an honor, it was obvious to me that she was not trying to say she understands the struggles being homeless, she was trying to express how high class celebrities aren’t as good as they’re perceived, and talking with homeless addicts in an aa meeting can feel more genuine and personal than talking to high class celebrities at a major event in pop culture. She had a good point, but I don’t get why she didn’t change before attending the meeting, that part is a bit odd, but not to the point where she was invalid, just a bit much

I agree, but also, keep in mind that the MET gala is a fundraiser event for the costume department for the MET. The museum itself doesn’t give the costume department any funds, so this gala is the only source of income for that department and for the preservation of historical garments.

And I get the met gala focuses more on the art side of fashion, which I enjoy seeing, I think it’s fun. But I still stand by if someone else had worn her outfits they wouldn’t be in the best dressed or dubbed ‘winner’ as I simply don’t think it was strong enough. One main issue was they rip off small creators/artists by asking to collaborate with them and see some samples, then tell the artist they “went a different direction,” but then use their designs. Kendall's piece fit well, as would any archival piece. Kendall's dress was a 1999 Givenchy Couture, "reawakened" because she's the first human to wear it, since the gowns were modeled by mannequins on the '99 runway.

The only messy drama stuff that I think you missed was stray kids! Tommy Hilfiger accidentally told the entire world about their tour in a really condescending way imo and then the photographers didn’t realize that several of the members are from English-speaking countries and so when they said, sarcastic and racist stuff, the members of stray kids knew exactly what they were saying… like who yells at someone to jump on a red carpet?!?!

i cant look past the r4cist comments thrown at the first ever kpop group being invited this year. disgusting behavior by the photographers. Even if photographers have no idea who Stray Kids are - at least be respectful and do your job. Assuming they don’t know English and throwing these disrespectful comments at them, when two are native english speakers is embarrassing.

I thought the met gala would have hired (or at least allowed in) more refined photographers, not the crap of the street that harass celebrities all day without a single working brain cell.
