I, too, am a Black Man from Detroit. I am enjoying the Solo Fam entries. But in this case, I would ask for Solo response on the uninformed theory tying this to slaves to be a little less harsh. The works baa baa black sheep followed with the response “yes, master” was easily fostered and spread by the black community originating before the civil rights movement as a basis in that theory. I’ve heard that theory and learned otherwise much later in life. So don’t be so harsh on those who grew up hearing this and thought it was true until informed.

Thank you for your logic and reasonableness, not to mention your research. As a woman of colour, I despair at the emergence of this 'wokeness' that asserts racist motives for everything. It diminishes the importance of the dialogue that needs to take place in actual proven instances of racism. It also sets back the possibility of changing attitudes by education, because it closes ppls minds by alienating them. Hope you do more of this. Thank you.

Sometimes i think some of this shit has got to be from racists using the useful idiots to make an important movement look stupid. Like, when they came out with articles saying "time was racist". For example some guys took mein kampf, but changed the language to be about feminism instead and submitted it to a scholarly journal where it was consider scholary work and all that. Then the authors show that it was all a troll to make modern femism look bad after it got accepted and published by these journals. The idea that time is racist because it was made by whites to control blacks is absurd, especially since the first examples of time keeling came out of ancient egypt, definely not white people, lol. The problem is, some idiots who don't know better run with this garbage on twitter or facebook or whatever, or "news" websites run it purely for the clicks, without realizing or caring that they're doing more harm than good.

It makes sense then that The whole reason the sheep and wool would be black probably gas more to do with the fact that black dyes in medieval times (yes I know there was no true "black" dye, Thank you) were costly and rare so black wool for cloth would come from black sheep and inherently be more valuable. Hence the 2/3 value lost to the farmer and community would hurt more.
