9:26 Normally you have to beat Blast Hornet’s stage which causes the boxes to vanish, although bizarrely, going to Blast Hornet before Gravity Beetle, causes an airship to pick up boxes which is much slower, so most people wait until after beating Beetle to head to Hornet to not get slowed down by box shipment segments.

@@1dfr33if you want to get into the nitty gritty of it, no. He is just “X”, implied as a variable that can mean limitless potential. Colloquially referring to him as Megaman X was just to establish a sequel series to the original. It is actually a translation error in X2 and X3 where he is referred to by Dr. Cain/Sigma/Zero as “Megaman”; the original Japanese refers to him as “X”. The nomenclature usually uses a more formal version like “ロックマンX”, for titles, but casually “エックス” or “Ekkusu” (romanized) can be used. Mostly, it’s just “X”.

Ended up seeing this again, the rainbow jumps are crazy, especially the double one in Volt Catfish's stage to reach the upgrade.

In all fairness, Mega Man and Metroid aren't all that different. You play as a badass arm-cannon wielder with awesome mechanic armor, getting upgrades and expanding your arsenal as you progress through the game... if a hardcore Mega Man Fan's favorite game isn't a Mega Man game, it better be Metroid.

The Zero skip was wild, you love to see it.

The Maverick Iframe glitch may have to do with those bosses having disjointed sprites, and thus hitboxes. The I-frames may only be on the "body" sprite and not the claw or head sprites.

That final Sigma's hit box is easy once you understand that it's actually slightly above his head.

Like the first 2 games X 3 ALSO has a 1 HIT kill move final area bosses ONLY.

If you can manipulate the game so throughly, why is it impossible to eliminate the RNG of the bosses's 2nd phase? Or necessary to take damage to bypass the flashy effect?

7:42 hitting an enemy with Tornado Fang creates a 7-frame window where collision isn't checked. 8:07 this bit is so disappointing to me. The first edition of the 100% TAS (to be published at TASVideos) destroyed Bit and Byte so that Doppler 1 would have Press Disposer, for the sake of showing off content that wasn't in the any%. And then it became "fuck your speed/entertainment tradeoffs." 18:55 It's one of the Chips, but I don't remember which. 19:13 this was another speed/entertainment tradeoff Noxxa made in that first edition of the 100% TAS. They did not fight Vile in the Factory so they could show off the wrecked Doppler 2 and Vile+Goliath fight. And consequently also did not get the Z-Saber. I was actually super active on TASVideos when Noxxa was working on this, and I was one of a few people to suggest these speed/entertainment tradeoffs; I basically said "do the opposite of what the any% does."
