Pentecostalism destroyed Christianity in Nigeria. It brought about the idea of faith without works. All you have to do is pray pray and pray for even basic things one can do for himself. It’s all about building big churches and supporting the ostentatious lifestyle of the pastors while their gullible followers wallow in poverty. Catholic, Baptist, and Anglican churches built missionary schools and hospitals that served everyone in the community the church was located. A good example is the famous EKu Baptist hospital of old. The schools built by modern day Pentecostal churches are for profits and many of their members can not afford to send their children to the school built with their money. Pentecostalism takes so much from the society but gives little or nothing in return.

Church ownership is like joining a company or entrepreneurship. Those early churches like Catholic/ Baptist & co are like companies that people join whereas the new churches are self establishments. Each person has to do what they believe it’s good for them.

I think when the European/ American missionaries brought Christianity to Africa, they use their value systems in the administration, but Africans received & run it with their own value systems which include “mine , stay till death”.

I call Nigerian Pastors, especially Pentecostal, *Religious* *Aggressive* *Capitalists.* Capitalism already is a problem, but imagine one without any government input and regulations. Imagine Capitalists that don't have to worry about paying most of their workers, and do not pay taxes or submit any report to the government, zero checks and balances. Imagine where these Capitalists are even treated as demigods. Now imagine Nigerian (Pentecostal)Pastors.

Some of them started when they were not married. As single young men, they laboured in prayers, fastings, night vigils , witnessing in growing the church. Now getting married along the line, it will be the women who came afterwards will become the treasures. The children who came much much later would now be groomed to take over from the GO s. So those young men who contributed in one way or the other in growing the congregation, now become " ordinary members" . This pains my heart. Please what do we call this ?

@@bernachukwureh2870 The founders of these churches see their churches as a family enterprise, so they prep their own kids to succeed them. Reason: loyalty & continuous financial benefits. Each congregant has to think for themselves.

@@micahduzzy5042 not quite. I don’t think anyone can actually know that answer because many churches were founded after the establishment of the early European churches in Nigeria. For example before Bishop Idahosa, Celestial church was founded by Oshofa, and Redeemed Church (currently led by Pastor Adeboye) was founded by Pastor Akindayomi. There are so many other churches like that. Idahosa raised the awareness of the church that you can be rich & influencial and still be a good Christian.

Can you back up the retirement with plan with the Bible. The fact that some churches retire people does not make it biblical. Pastor kumuyi is over 80. but I tell you the truth many 50 years can not fire 🔥 like him. Or brother guile Amani.

@dboy15 Should every single thing we do be backed up by the Bible? Or should we be able to apply common sense and discernment? Retirement in any service-related field, as the church is, should not mean that one must stop serving. People were still healed by Elisha's bones after he died as described in the Bible. However, there was a time when Elijah had to hand over to Elisha.

Is what u are saying here inspired by God or u are just talking from the senses? Is that biblical to retire as a minister of God? Where did this idea come from ? The Bible encourages leadership structures and No one is prevented from preaching the gospel by any church leader. Everyone of us have a catchment area where he can shine and manifest the glory and gift of God in him. We can not all stand at the pulpit at the same time. Remember the 5 ministry gift to the church. When are okay enough to preach and do all these things u listed in ur video , then start a branch from ur leader not eying his position and wanting him retire or dead for u to take over. We have to labour and give birth to spiritual children and our Daddy GO did , that is the right way , not expecting retirement or changing of leadership. I couldn’t even listen to all of ur message because it can sink with my spirit. Anyway thank u for the intention u had to bring adjustment, just that right now u aren’t inspired by the Holy Spirit.
