The Media Doesn't Want You To See THIS in China!

What is China like in 2024? China is one of the most misunderstood countries in the world. On one hand Western media teaches us to fear China and for US citizens our government tells us that traveling to China is dangerous! But I just went to Chongqing, the largest city in China, and this vlog will teach everyone the truth about what is China in 2024!

@@hrd1790 maybe he has a one track mind… or bias… or… lol Mainly he is pointing at a truism “China is thriving.” They should be, China practically makes everything for the entire planet. Yes, many countries outsourced manufacturing to China, now rely on China, including the US Govt. He then avoids problems like imbalances and leverage created by this. The hard parts left unsaid. I’m not at all suggesting the US Govt is innocent, their rhetoric is as dubious as it has been for decades. Ultimately our governments all doing a piss poor job. Intentionally Id love to try to resolve such issues before they send us all into a world war. Intentionally

True story. George Bush Sr. went to China decades ago as an ambassador and lived there for a couple years. As a Christian he expected a communist country devoid of family/human values. He fell in love with China and felt they had better family values and looked after each other better than people in the US. China has a cruel history, like most places. It's still not particularly rich (73rd by GDP PPP per capita). A large economy mostly comes from having a large population. This isn't really meant to be a criticism, China has done very well to get to where it is, but let's not exaggerate. China has many good points, and in some respects I think it beats the West, but one of the worst things about it has to be the excessive nationalism and constant need to praise and congratulate itself. Videos like this, and all the pro-China stuff all over social media, I actually think has the opposite of the intended effect (i.e. it makes people dislike China more).

How interesting - and so true! Visited China in 2009 with family in August - hottest time of year! Saw the legendary terracotta armies in Xi'an (sweltering hot inside the hall holding the excavations!). Saw the older buildings in Beijing from its sad history in the 19th century. Saw the tall, modern buildings in Shanghai! Loved the miniature model of the whole Shanghai city central. Went up to the tallest building, too. It was too hot to be outside, but really enjoyed the variety and history of China. Even dined on yummy genuine "Peking duck" in Beijing at the restaurant whose name I forget now. The taxicab driver in Beijing even had a printed receipt for us - they are monitored so that they remain honest and do not cheat passengers! Enjoyed the Beijing night market with exotic foods on the grill. Traffic safety is a little iffy, though - some crazy driver almost ran us over at the pedestrian lane. Is that better now?

Fascinating! This is quite an "edutational" overview of Chongqing. I didn't know that 20% of the economic stream courses through this city. The people seem friendly enough & the economy, though slowed by COVID, seems bustling. Also: I'm impressed by the narrator's command of Mandarin (I'm assuming [!] ), which is the most spoken language on our planet.

@@dantronics1682 I used to watch serpentza's channel, but I've noticed that his videos on China became increasingly negative over the years. Serpentza being a South African, may have been used to a sort of "apartheid" rule, and enjoyed the attention that comes with being a white foreigner in China. The glow began to fade for him as China became more developed, and it probably led to his dissatisfaction and his eventual departure.

I've been to China... more specifically, I worked in Qidong, Nantong, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Dalian, Guangzhou, and Yantai. Absolutely amazing country from North to South. Very far from what people think it is... but this is the perspective of a foreigner in their country. I believe the life of an expat there must be completely different from the life of a Chinese. I also had the feeling that they're all happy, and they're welcoming as well. They're far ahead from the rest of the world on everything, but they fall behind on some aspects, such as personal hygiene, and some behavior, such as spitting on the floor all the time with harsh noises from their throat, and smoking absolutely anywhere, including inside hotel lobbies and toilets.

You began with an amazing clip. Chinese responding with "we want to be friends"! Yes Chinese wants to be friends with Americans. Are these Chinese discernable enough to realize that most Americans are righteous, good and friendly. Do these people distinguish the differences between Americans vs US political Leadership? Don't be surprised, that they are extremely aware that Geopolitically there are ridiculous strains and stresses between the two countries and yet they are passionate with their love for American Citizens. Makes me cry.

I'm an ex-pat that has lived in Xi'an, China continuously for the last 12 years. Things have generally gotten better, but construction and workers are not on par for skill and experience with the rest of the world. It is not dangerous here at all. Most Chinese people are friendly and personable. However, Chinese culture doesn't support manners or courtesy. If you can make exceptions for that cultural difference, then China is OK. The Three Gorges Dam is also a very vulnerable dam. If it were to fail for any reason, many cities would be in jeopardy. The pollution began abating in around 2016 or so. Now the air is acceptable and there are more clear , blue sky days than I used to see in the USA. Too many Chem trails in the USA. You mentioned EVs here in China. When you get to higher elevations in the winter months, you begin to see the deficiencies of EVs. Many were being towed because of loss of power. I mean... MANY!. The batteries in the current technologies, do not fair well in colder climates or temperatures. not even in China. I have traveled by road to the south and the north and have observed these things personally. Although it is sometimes more convenient to use WeChat Pay, I would not want this in the USA as it would likely be misused by those manipulating the monetary systems there for control. The banking system in the world is not trustworthy enough to allow a cashless society and if there were a power outage, then all payments are stopped dead in their tracks and accessibility to your funds become unavailable. You guys are nice, but you miss key points. Technology can be and is misused. The older gentleman is prime bait for globalism and globalism is bad. Evil even. Don't be fooled by a fools opinion. It looks good from the outside, but the excuse always used for loss of freedom and liberty is "For your protections" Sorry, this guy is not realistic.
