The Medeci PillowLifter Light (MPL100)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The Medeci PillowLifter is positioned on top the of the mattress, so requires less installation than a mattress elevator. This video describes the specification and fitting method, and can be used on any size bed, though consideration is recommended if fitting to a standard double bed used by two people.

I have one of these and although it did take a while to get used to how solid it is under me it is invaluable alongside a bed rail I have. I have good upper body strength in my arms but cannot lift my head and shoulders and this was bought so that my husband did not have to get out of bed in the night to help me up. Because it sits me up I can get out of bed to my walker and then it will lay me back down. I can also stop it at any stage to read or watch tv. Mine is on a deep spring mattress with a 2 inch memory topper on to raise my bed to a height that is useable for me and whilst it does sink in a bit because of its weight it works perfectly. We did not fit the strap because it may need to be removed quickly if I have a problem but it does not move about much at all. My only problem is trying to find a spare cover for it haha.

These are China garbage!! And if you notice it seems like they do not have it on a regular matress,it looks like it is on a very flat surface .. maybe a peace of plywood? I have one similar and I have not been able to get confortable laying on it,if you do not have it on a solid surface you can slide down on it over night,it is a constant strugle pulling your self back up on it overnight,it is pure torture.face-orange-frowning 🤥

Obviously you are entitled to your opinion, so I will endeavour to reply constructively. Initially, the PillowLifter in the video is shown on a foam mattress bought from a typical bed company on a retail estate, not on a piece of plywood. The product was designed by SmitCare in conjunction with a specialist product design company in Essex. Unfortunately it is not financially viable to manufacture in the UK, hence it is manufactured overseas and imported. We primarily supply equipment to Community Equipment Stores for prescription by Healthcare Professionals, so the products have to be financially viable for purchase from the Social Care budget (taxpayers' money) while also fulfilling their primary purpose. Many different options of foam mattress were tried during product testing stages and the current configuration was deemed the best compromise between comfort and cost. If the mattress foam was replaced with dual density memory foam the level of comfort would likely be improved, however the additional cost would not make the product viable. If you have involvement from a Healthcare Professional, I would advise that you discuss that you are slipping down the bed so that preventative suggestions could be made. Perhaps a Wedge, a Mattress Elevator or Profiling Bed may be more suitable for your needs.
