Thank you for the comments. Much has been taken onboard. This is a new journey, learning curves and triumphs, but with the aim of unpacking this story...and its multitude of strands. For those who are asking why I haven't covered particular areas of this case...I will be...if you feel you have anything to add to my knowledge or understanding of this case please feel free to contact me at soniapoulton@sky.com Bear in mind, this is the first one...it's the beginning...laying a foundation. Yes, there are people watching this who understand the minutiae of the case - but there are many who don't...the plan is to develop this over a period of time and as, and when, the legal investigations progress. Here is some of the back story which brought me to this point: www.theuntoldstoryofmadeleinemccann.com

Not long after Madeleine's disappearance, I was asked by a couple (very comfortably-off doctor and media worker with young kids) here in Hungary what I thought. My answer was, on the basis of stats in cases of harm or abuse, the parents must be potential suspects. Reaction: total indignation - 'People like us never do such things, only poor people and Gypsies would do that!' Seems that the prejudices of the middle class are universal. Imagine the headlines if the parents had been working-class: 'Tiny tots left alone while Mum and Dad booze it up with their mates'. Why did politicians work so hard to make sure the McCanns are not in the focus of the investigation? Solidarity with 'people like us'.

I am portuguese. Thank you for showing the truth of events in such a professional and non biased way, relationships between both countries will hardly ever be the same again , after the way my country was treated by the british media. Gonçalo Amaral never said she was killed, his theory is that she died accidentally and her body was hidden somewhere ( which was later supported by the two dogs) and all the events reported by the family and friends were a cover up, hence the police upon arriving noticed immediately that the statements of said family and friends were not consistent with the evidence in front of them. They did the searches and all the normal procedures but focused on the parents statements and behavior because being portuguese does not mean being an idiot and being british does not mean being smart. Also, while those people did not speak our language , the portuguese police does and most will understand at least enough to be able read the body language at the same time as the witness is giving the statement, much is lost in translation but not in this case. Another point, some of the resort's staff were fired after this event, and at least of of them ( the house cleaner) stated that unlike the previous days, Maddie's bed had already been done that morning which she found a bit odd. None of these people are willing to speak now, even after losing their jobs and let me tell you about us, we do love a good story and chatting about it, these people are afraid and that has always made wonder why.

My theory is Kate and Jerry had some sort of antihistamine or sleeping medication (possibly a controlled substance) and they gave their kids a dose to make them go to sleep so they can go out, without having to check up on them. Maddie as the oldest probably was least likely to sleep through so they gave her the largest dose. Arrogantly as doctors they likely thought it was safe, but I suspect they did it on each night while on holiday before they went for dinner. At some point in the night poor Maddie is found overdosed or she did get up shortly after her parents left for dinner and fell had a head injury with no hope of resuscitation. I do not believe the parents routinely checked the kids. They very quickly realised that they will lose their medical licences and have their other kids taken into to care, if the police find the body toxicology will be performed and an autopsy will quickly conclude the exact cause of death. So they frame a kidnapping. Kate instead of searching for Maddie, stays in the apartment and watches the breathing of the the other kids according to witnesses, monitoring because I believe they where also sedated. Sadly I don't think justice will ever be served for Maddie.

Yes, very similar to my belief. Kate & Gerry are wholly responsible for Madeleine losing her life and they created the abduction set up as a cover up story. There is no evidence for an abduction. The younger twins it was observed, never woke or even stirred and a woman even said who was with them at the time that it seemed as though they were drugged. I think the Portuguese Police were absolutely on the right track (even though there were mistakes made) but as soon as they allowed Scotland Yard to be involved - that was it, the truth was never going to be exposed. 'The Tapas 7' - as they have been called, all know what happened and have obviously taken a vow of silence. Unfortunately unless someone speaks out or evidence is found that directly links back to the MacCann's I don't think this will ever be solved and Madeleine will never have justice.

  • @DirtyJamesUK

That doesn't explain the corrupt English police and government involvement. I think this is much more sinister. Fairly low level elite satanism that has seen them go all the way to the top despite their guilt being fairly obvious. Just like Jimmy Savile. High level members of the government have controlled the narrative, and they've even met the Pope. Aren't these people/organisations all shrouded in associations with paedophilia? And they group together to form a very powerful defence team that have the power to convince those of us who don't like to think for ourselves.

They no experience with these cases, he got 18 month suspended sentence for perjury on another missing child case wer also officers wer accused of beating a woman up. This was witholding evidence which he done. Then a few years ago one of the detectives is serving a 7 year sentence for planning two robberies and the abduction of a child and mother. My god and they need the apology. They need looking into more for possible corruption or involvement. Funny how they automatically said the parents done it eh?

@@rossblack9559 The McCanns allowed the crime scene to be contaminated before the police had arrived. It must have been quite a surprise for the McCanns when the police turned up as neither of them had bothered to phone the emergency services (surely no-one believes the nonsense about Oldfield being sent to the 24 hour reception to ask for police assistance). Goncalo Amaral did receive an 18 month suspended sentence for perjury, however the real mystery is why the McCanns corrupt private dicks, Metodo 3, got involved in the case? Did the McCanns hire Metodo to find Madeleine or discredit Amaral? It needs investigating! The detective you are talking about is Paulo Pereira Cristovao and he did receive a 7 year prison sentence but he never worked on the McCann case. Do you intend to bring up every corrupt copper you can find in Portugal? I'm sure there are many as there surely is in Britain. The Portuguese police never "automatically said the parents done it" and probably one of their biggest mistakes was looking for an abductor for the first three months of the investigation. As I've said before you really need to do some proper research into this cold-case and should not just believe the McCann's version of events!

And it has been well publicised on video from a hotel worker at the Ocean club that Goncalo Amaral was the one mistaken about that fact, as the Window and shutters open from the outside with minimal effort and no damage what so ever, and the hotel worker demonstrates this to all. Dog evidence? What dog evidence exactly? You do realise one year later, the dog, Eddie, got sacked by West yorkshire police force and was never used again after he allerted to Shannon Matthews Cadavar, which lead to the arrest of her uncle for murder, but she was found alive before he could stand trial? You are aware?

@@TheWhoever118 Still spreading lies. Goncalo Amaral was, as coordinator third in command of the Portuguese police investigation into Madeleine's disappearance. It was the police investigating the case that found there was no break in through the bedroom window, not just Amaral's opinion. Instead of searching for Madeleine the McCanns phoned family and friends in Britain (what could they do) with a made up story about Madeleine being abducted through 'jemmied shutters' as the apartment was locked. This story soon had to change as the OC manager John Hill pointed out there was no break in to the apartment. Eddie was not sacked by the police and was actually used in the police investigation of Kate Prout's murder. He detected cadaver odour in in the Prout home and was found to be correct when Adrian Prout confessed to her murder. Eddie was not used in the Shannon Matthew's case. The cadaver dog, Buster, detected cadaver odour on secondhand furniture in the Matthew's house so was actually right.
