People in the comments are one thing... but Kidd made the actual decision to put him in... and when THJ didn't produce ANY stats in 5 minutes, Kidd should be the one to make the decision and take him out. But he didn't. When 10 minutes of THJ not producing anything came along, he left him in... when 15 minutes passed and still zero, Kidd still left him in. Commenters are dumb but this is on Kidd 100%.

I was at the game tonight, and it was clear that the Mavs were not going to win unless Luka and Kyrie both had monster games. In the middle of the 4th, there were 4 players on the court with Kyrie who had zero points. THJ, DJJ, Maxi, Green, Exum, and Gafford together had 13 points in the entire game. No team can win a championship like that.

Luka getting fouled out during the comeback was insane. The refs really did not want the mavs to win

Too be honest, Luka should have fouled out even earlier though when he crashed into was it Tatum or Brown?... I'm a Mavs fan but it is how it is. 😩 The only proper critic I have of the refs is that it seemed like smaller defenders were literally grabbing and pushing Lively out of the paint to stop him from getting rebounds in game 1 and 2 which was a game changer for the Celtics!! That would have been nice to see that called out! Luka won't get easy calls cause the refs wanna allow a certain amount of defensive physicality.. There were bad calls both ways but not like on a horrendous level.

Maxie and THJ need to be traded and Mr Dribble needs to get in shape and learn the meaning of TEAM BALL…had he stayed with the plan and kept driving Dallas would have won, they couldn’t stop him or Kai, but no he’s to busy trying to outscore Kai…Mr Dribble is the reason we LOST

What I noticed: - They have tendencies to collapse which gave the Celtics open kick-out 3s. - I think, man to man defense is the key. - Roster rotation is a mess THJ really? Where's Exum, Hardy and Powell? - If we can't count on our 3s we should focus on consistent high percentage shots and defense. - Let Luka be the SG and Kyrie be the PG (my Hot Take). - They already did a defensive type of play during the Thunders series, I believe they can do it again.

KEEP TIM OFF THE COURT!!!! PLAY AND ROTATE DJJ, GREEN AND HARDY INSTEAD. And if Gafford and Lively are NOT in foul trouble come the 4th quarter, PLAY THEM AT THE SAME TIME (Gafford on Horford and Lively on Tatum). And IF they decide to put Maxi in, Kidd needs to make sure to have either Gafford or Lively on the court to support. Stop playing him as the 5 against THIS team. Every time I see this, the lineup is like this: Maxi, PJ (or DJJ), Tim, Green (or Hardy) and Kyrie (or Luka). No true big and we end up paying for it with easy backdoor cuts that allow them back into the game or to gain momentum.

@@good2go619 I agree, but usually he tends to get one or two of those to go and then heats up from there. But I would still prefer his, and Green's, aggressiveness to Tim "selfish man" Hardaway. How many times have we seen him bring the ball up the court, or get it passed to him in basic rotation, just for him to launch up a 3 that didn't even sniff the rim (with the exception of the ONE game since he returned)??? At least Hardy keeps the defense guessing, scrambling and on their heels. Difference is that Hardy is still young and can also learn from these mistakes and develop better decision making. Tim thinks he knows better (or is listening more to Tim Sr. than coach Kidd) and does whatever he wants; even if it drags the team down with those choices on a regular basis.

@@pokerplayersean THJ is just doing what he knows. It's Kidd's fault for putting him in the game and playing him that many minutes. Gilbert Arenas talked about this before regarding himself early in his career. The coaches knew Gil was a shot chucker. So Gil's mentality was if they put him in the game, then that's what they want him to do. I like Exum's minutes tonight and thought he should've got more time.

He use to be more aggressive and knew how to put the ball on the floor, drive the lane and jam it on people's head. And each year since being with the mavs he's gotten more and more shot happy while becoming more and more timid, or even scared, to drive. Almost like it has become a panicking twitch to just launch the ball with no aim or regard. And his stats relate to that too. The more you go back, the better his stats tended to be because he mixed it up and played with more confidence. Maybe the different injuries over time has affected him mentally. IDK. But for now, Kidd needs to keep him off the floor as it dragging up down with the poor and passive playstyle from him.

Let's face it the Celtics are the better team. Their offense is much better than our defense. Luka has got to stop complaining though, because it takes away from his own game. It's been a great season and Luka has taken 2 different teams to the WCF and NBA finals in the last 3 years.

Hey let’s just focus on winning the next game. It’s the only game that matters. Let’s not even talk about winning the series. We need to win the next game first. PS: Boston is a better team across the board , more options, better depth. Don’t act deluded. Mavs will have to have fantastic performances to win , which can happen. So let’s just focus on the next game .. may everyone have their A scoring game and may there be some defensive breath throughs.

What the hell was with the calls and no calls?! The biggest one that really stuck out and made me look back on all of them was the intentional foul not called at the end of the game. It didn't look like the refs were favoring either team but just randomly fucking up the natural flow of the game!

The turning point of f the game is when Kidd took Luka out the game when it was 25-12 in the first. Then 2 minutes later there were only up by 1. You have to keep him in for the rest of the quarter to run up the score bad decision by Kidd

Celtics are putting on a clinic. Mavs can't breathe on offense, can't stay in front of Tatum or Brown on defense. Celtics straight up man defense forces a tough shot every time. Porzingas absence created an opportunity, but the Mavs failed to capitalize. Gafford, Washington, Luka have post games but the Mavs never attempted to feed the inside. Everything is dribble, dribble, dribble. No action, no movement, little passing. The pick and roll gets blown up every time. At the other end Brown, Tatum are constantly shooting layups and BOS gets too many rebounds under their own basket. Mavs were outstanding vs the West, but have been overmatched from the jump against Boston. Series ends Friday.

Should Mavs look to trade for Deni Advija, inquire about some shooters and a stretch big. Keep DJJ(FOR THE BENCH), Green if you can ( a spark plug), Lively( of course, but I think he starts next season), Maxi(50/50 on).

Nah bro. We weren't robbed, we just played bad. Luka was complaining leaving the defense 4v5 and he was getting cooked every time he went 1 on1. We finally got Kyrie playing good but Luka has a poor game by his standards. Honestly I never saw the light at the end of the tunnel, not even a glimpse. It was really just embarrassing, you could see the impatience with coach Kidd sending so many people out in the first half. I called mavs in 7 at the beginning of this series but man it feels like we are just fighting a sweep.

@cvgodd1432 Nobody is saying that Boston isn't the better team, but if on top of being the better team they also get a massively favorable whistle, you're basically taking the other team out of contention and 2 times now in this series, the Mavs are making an insane comeback only to have their effort slaughtered because of the BS calls.

I believe they can, I’m not so sure they will. Hardaway was out there channeling his inner Kyrie, too bad he doesn’t have an inner Kyrie. Luka went down trying to take a charge. That’s just pure effort from a superstar, he was desperately trying to make something good happen.

I'm from Slovenia and the primary reason I cheer for Mavs is Luka, it's why I wake up at 2am to watch the game. We didn't lose because of the refs. We lost because defense (Luka's too) was horrendous, and because offense was constantly Luka and Kai going into the crowded paint on their own. There was no play... no teamwork... Lively got to dunk from a PJ pass and from Luka and Kai missing shots. This is not how you win. 40 - 45% FG while playing solo isn't going to win. Where is the team play?

Refs cost the game, all decisions that was like 50-50 did go to Boston favore...Luka was ejected 4 min before end and Mavericks was behind fo only 3 point...

You are correct. Every Mavs possession looks the same. All dribble, no movement. Boston's man defense is enough to force a tough shot every time. The pick and roll gets suffocated every time. DAL has not made a single offensive adjustment the entire series.

You are right! 😂😂 I’m a Celtics fan and the plan is to force Luka to play defense all game so he’s tired in second half for offense. 😂😂 it’s working perfectly! The role players on mavs are trash too. They can’t do anything unless Luka spoon feeds them! 😂 parade on Sunday! 😂

Excuse Me You’re not going to blame Mr Dribble’s bad Game on Kyrie Irving - Mr. Dribble is the one that went Rogue. The game plan was for them to attack and this would open up everything and it was working until Mr. Dribble started taking those step back 3s and not playing defense…when Mr Dribble left the game Kai was able to make a play and get Gafford a Dump. Kai needs to lead the offense and Mr Dribble needs to stay at Post Period. Mr Dribble is to busy trying to out score Kai instead of the other team….Does he not play team ball when he’s playing for his Country??? I know he wants MVP, he needs to understand you have to win 1st. This is the reason he didn’t win MVP 💯💯💯

@SoloLLC I watched the game and both Luka and Kai were playing the same solo attack with awful FG percentages. Kai did marginally better. But "Mr Dribble" literally carried the team in games 1 and 2 when Kai was a complete no-show, so you'll forgive me if I don't praise Kai for one moderately good game after two chokes.

It was all kyrie luka noone else showed up

Kidd is not a good trainer, bacause he makes Lively go to defence in the perimeter while the ring is unguard so Celtics score very easily.

Admit it. We needed a third scorer like Brunson to be on the same caliber level team. We had the team in our hands. We should have not waited to the last year to re-sign him. Very bad mistake.

Not a tim fan but Hardy is not that guy. He is a walking turnover. His choices in shot selection is terrible. He can't finish at the rim. Exum may should got more minutes. I agree that it is time for thj to go for sure.

Dallas lost the game in the 1st qtr. Luka veered away from the game scheme and late in the 1st qtr started taking all those step back 3s instead of continuing to drive because they couldn’t stop him. Kidd allowed it and it continued, he was arguing with the refs on obvious no calls. Kidd really should have allowed him to remain out until 2nd qtr. Why would you take Kai out 1st qtr on a must win Game and put Hardy and MK in…that sorry azzz MK should have remained on the injury list…he was a waste of time- scared as hell to shoot….why was THJ playing??? Kidd needed defense in the 3rd qtr had THJ and MK on the floor not stopping no damn body and had 1 of his best defense players on the bench - then he wants to put DJJ back in the game with 2 minutes and some change in the 3rd qtr. the damage was done. I rather have defense than nothing…then Kidd went with that damn small ball and I have told them you can’t play small ball against Boston. Dallas can’t beat Boston with Luka’s pace..he is allowing Boston defense to set up and rest on their offense because Mr Dribble wants to dribble all the time. Boston has been doing this shit since game 1 passing the ball around until they get an open shot…BAM. - Dallas should have been doing the same…I am going to be honest Mr Dribble has got to get his azzz in shape….Kidd has got to be a Real Damn Coach and hurt some players feelings. It’s going to take a damn Miracle for them to Win 4 straight games. To beat Boston you can’t allow their defense to setup - if you make them work they will give you the game, but you can’t fall behind 20 points and expect a miracle every time, this is now the unexpected will happen. I had a slight hope to see Boston lose one to a death by a thousand cuts, but nobody is cutting - it's just idling and dragged out iso ball. Hope D-live gets some post moves by next season - hell, Luka can teach him. PJ and DJJ gotta work on that 3 above the break. Kidd did a good job both runs to the WCF so he can learn from his mistakes although the series went down the drain mainly because of the inexperience on the Mavs, and Kyrie's meltdown in Boston. They'll get better.

Celtics no Khris Prozingis at the end no problem Celtics still won. A win is a win at the end Al Horford didn’t even score much at all same with Jrue Holiday.

Fans have to believe, and a a big Mavs fan but Celtics are too good to lose 4 in a row. We’ve yet to reach 100 points in any game in the Finals. I don’t believe we’ll even get a gentleman’s sweep. Great season but Luka’s injuries derailed him.

No mavs lost to the better team

Excuses are crazy. Mavs got more FTs and less fouls than Celtics and you're acting like refs didn't miss a ton of obvious fouls Mavs were committing on Tatum when he drove. Broadcast literally showed him blatantly getting smacked in the arm and there was no call. Also prior to Lukas 5th foul he dived at Browns legs which should've been an easy call but refs tried keeping him out of trouble. Luka literally forced the refs to foul him out😂. And either way the Celtics won by 6 or 8 and Luka hasn't even been good in the Clutch. Here are the Clutch Time stats in case you're wondering. Luka: 2.7PPG 3/15 FG 25.3 Min Kyrie: 4.3PPG 4/11FG 30.7 Min Jaylen: 6.0 PPG 8/13 FG 24 Min Stop making excuses when your team loses. It's pathetic.

Jaden Hardy it would be much better than THJ, because he is not a consistent scorer, and i least Hardy try to break defence

Robbed? Luka bricking 3 after 3, complains to the ref resulting in 4 on 5 multiple times and bricking point blank shots. The Boston bench outplayed us like they're down 2-0 instead of us. Trade Kleber and THJ.

I know this is a talk show, but it’s more than Dallas needed to hit their shots and playing defense and the refs needed to do their jobs…. Why are we not talking about what actually matters? Why are the Mavs still running Luka/Kyrie high screen and roll action with gafford and lively? And not instead with whoever the BIG MAN is guarding??? JT has taken it upon himself to guard gafford and lively so that he can switch onto Luka or kyrie when we run that action…. That’s the biggest adjustment we could have and should have made after game one. They’ve been doing it for three games. With these adjustments, you bring lively/gafford down at the dunkers spot running a high screen and roll with different players. Why golden state was deadly for years was for these reasons. If we don’t do this the series is over. Talk about that, not about the dumb refs

The Celtics have kicked the Mavs ass by playing better defense, better team offense, being quicker to the ball, making almost all the big plays, etc., etc. Luka and Kyrie are great but they are defensive liabilities. The Celtics were playing on the road without one of their stars and they still were on the verge of blowing the Mavs out. BUT--it ain't over 'til it's over.

Need to add someone to the coaching staff next season who actually knows how to call offensive plays. I was nervous about the reffing going in to this series because there was a lot of money placed on the Mavs and the Mavs were the underdogs meaning Vegas would take a bath if the Mavs won.
