The Matrix Reloaded - Hallway Fight Scene

Ғылым және технология

This is the scene in the Matrix 2 where Neo, Morpheus, and the Key Maker are trapped in a hallway of back doors, one of which leads to the architect. The problem is that if the alarm to the architect's door goes off, the building explodes. This is why Trinity is hacking into the local power grid to shut down power to several city blocks in the Matrix. Keep in mind that this is a special hallway/floor where no elevator or stair well can reach, hence the back door motif.

After Neo gets messiahfied in the first film, it was almost redundant having people fight along side him. If anything this hinders him because he is preoccupied with their safety over his objective. Morpheus almost getting Smithed in the hallway was proof of that.

I love how despite how much they interacted in the first movie, Smith barely even acknowledges Morpheus here. He already viewed himself superior to humans, but here you can tell he's gone even beyond that. Literally the only person that matters to him now is Neo.

@@Jose-se9pu Nope he did even care about neo too. Remember in the first part when both Smith and neo had conversation. Smith told "it's been said you are living two lives , So basically Smith knew he is living in the matrix world and want to get out of it, And also knows Thomas Anderson Alias/ Neo is a part of the matrix as well as real world who is basically an ethical hacker in renouned software company and a program named Neo in a real world. So being an ethical hacker Smith thought with the help of neo hacking into zion mainframes machine he could get access to the codes and destroy the zion for good.

@@godalmighty1188 Well, I’m fine with them surviving it - even if we acknowledge plot, the Matrix series definitely hints at the notion of predestination and planning as a viable explanatory model for literally everything. In fact, now that I think about it, Morpheus actually shows some signs of shifting to this guiding philosophy in some respects in this movie. Remember when they were talking about the first Merovingian encounter and he said with complete certainty that their leaving alive meant that what occurred there was exactly what was meant to happen and couldn’t have happened in any other way.

I agree 100%. The screenwriting, shot choices, cinematography, and tempo to everything was absolutely spot-on throughout the entire trilogy. It's truly a masterclass in both storytelling via strong narrative choices, and yet also... HUUUGE visuals. :) Just the fact that being inside "The Matrix" itself was almost always shot with a greenish, muted overtone in the first film, vs. "reality" as being darker yet normally colored, vs. the SIMULATIONS that Morpheus crafted for training were brilliantly executed and colored/shaded.

Polo Ralph Pretty much the climax of the entire second movie, but TL;DR That door at the end of the hall was rigged with explosives that Trinity @1:06 was trying to disable by cutting power to the building. It was supposed to be disabled already during a short window so they were hurrying. If Smith hadn't delayed them, they would've died when the door opened.

The Keymaker is The Doc in John Wick, the main Agent in Reloaded is also the body guard that almost bests John Wick in the first John Wick, then we all know Fishborn is in it. But the Main Agent is also a stunt coordinator for the John Wick movies. There was a lot of friendships he called up to put John Wick together and I dig it :)

It's interesting how Morpheus, when he's being assimilated, doesn't bother calling out to Neo for help, like you would expect. He wouldn't bother Neo with that. His entire character arc revolves around him thinking himself unimportant, expendable even when next to the destiny of The One, and yet time and again Neo proves this mistaken. In the end, Morpheus even outlives him.
