It's cause snipers are objectively overpowered no matter what you do to them as long as they maintain the ability to 1 shot kill to the head regardless of range. Hitting a singular shot is for the most part easier than hitting multiple in succession, and yet snipers get rewarded more for an "easier" task and can even in some cases react to automatic fire and kill in return because they only need one hit compared to the 3-6ish hits most automatics in the game need.

they have just recently hired a new contractor so thats why they just rebalanced the snipers

@@siko9799 My comment was about game balance. You're talking about individualistic perspective. Yes, most automatics are more practical from case to case, but in (and I cannot stress this enough) every fps with sniper rifles, they're op. The counterplay to a sniper is, don't be seen and if you are seen then be extremely close to even get a chance to punish them, and if they're staring down a chokepoint then you can forget it. Snipers are oppressive, that's their job. If they're able to do their job then they are overpowered. I'm not saying, nerf them into oblivion. However most game devs don't realize that the best way to "balance" a sniper is to leave it unbalanced, because that's what they'll "always" be.

@@legendaryignitor i see. i agree with what you say. snipers should always be guns with high skill ceilings. i think pf does this well to an extent. though there are some easy to use snipers (.50 cals), usually their potential is lower than a faster firing sniper.

I honestly love how they're making each sniper fall into its own group, yet not so niche that you can't play sniper if you're part of a given niche - each one is completely unique and a little difficult to switch between playstyles, yet if you're a sniper it's nigh impossible to not fit in with a specific gun's niche.

Sorry im late by a year but Bfg and NTW fit into the same category and sometimes even the hecate let me list ig Power - NTW, HECATE, BFG Potential - Remington, Steyr, Mosin Versatility - Intervention im not as smart as i sound i forgot all sniper types youre right 😭

heyo, guy who did the TRG rework here as you said I was aiming for the TRG to be moreso focused on it's ability to limb kill, but unfortunately it was not well received as it had functionally rendered the weapon useless, as it was only killing to similar distances as the AWS and new K14. I will be going back to the drawing board for the TRG, so hopefully it should get rejuvenated in a later update. Also, the M1903 maxim suppressor thing IS a bug, it's supposed to have a unique sound to other suppressors but somehow didn't make it into production.

@@coldworkedhayche the contractor is currently on holiday due to it being new years, but he plans to start doing consistent updates every couple of weeks or so, doing small balance changes/adding new content. I'm hoping I will be able to have the rework I have written pushed in the next update.

Basically, in a nutshell: All snipers now have either trash or no torso multipliers, FT300 is the new meta, and NTW shoots through entire maps.

I can confirm that NTW shoots through entire maps. I prebought the NTW at level 20, put a red dot on top of the scope, bought the single shot conversion, put some iphones on it, and sat on a couch in the living room of a building on desert storm. I had a friend spot for me, and I managed to get 20 kills by shooting red markers on a wall. I even got a collat once. Definitely the most fun I've had in phantom so far. I'm not even good at the game lol. People were like "why do you, a level 20, have an NTW and why are you shooting us through like 7 walls?"

I wish Phantom Forces had that same vibe as it used to have 3 years ago. Such good days.

@@_wayward_494 what has changed is that i no longer feel like my deaths should have happened 90% of the time because i either start shooting one bullet at them back after seeing them and im dead 1 second later. seems like the frames arent synced up most times too and i played in 2016-2019 and just came back. never felt like this.

The lack of sway on the ft300 is due to the unique design, one notable part of this is the stock which is on a spring also marksman kit + 22 lr is now very powerful, it fixes the old mag issue and works like marksman kit on everything else

The NTW-20x110 with the heavy barrel has 45 studs of penetration. 35 studs are beginner numbers

The reason to use the SVU is for its body performance. In LRC, it can 2 shot limb/torso all ranges, which is a lot like every other sniper (excluding the ones that torso kill or limb kill all ranges), yet has a LOT more RPM.

for the TRG, the TRG-S kit is basically a direct upgrade (torso multi is now 1.14 instead of 1, but the base velocity is reduced by 200). also the Mosin can have 8mm and extended mag again for some reason

Btw the SVDS conv (10/3.5mm) on top of having reverse damage and semi auto, 1. Has I think 6 studs of pen and 2. Use ars suppressor to make the one shot head range closer since ars reduces ranges the most Also, NTW-20 with 20x110 and heavy barrel had 42 studs of pen

I don't play this game super often but when I do I usually run snipers, I run the 700. I'm glad they didn't ruin it because I actually enjoy using it. same with the Mosin, I'm glad they brought back the 4X

thank god they reworked the ft300, i used to main it in the past and seemed strange to play but now its really good, if you have 6xc ammo and long barrel on it it gets 4000 velocity and 4 studs of pen (not sure if marksman kit thing that adds 10 rounds in the mag effects that) but yeah its really good now

There is an odd glitch I found while using the intervention, where if you somewhat skip the bolt animation it won't let you scope in until you fire another round and finish the animation. Oof.

The ft300 is now (in my opinion) realy good, if you use a good red dot sight, heavy barrel, skeleton or hipfire grip, marksmen kit (gives more ammo) and 6xc conv

On the WA2000 please try my setup OKP-7 muzzle booster Skeleton grip Red laser 7.5mm conversion its effectively just a better k14, more rpm, torso kill range, semi auto and low recoil for a sniper

they canged the bolting anymation on the Intervention because it now has a Straight Pull Bolt when using normals sights like Reflex or Iron Sights

They should really just put the SVU into DMR because that’s really what it is. If you use it like a sniper, you’ll get poor results. However if you use it like the scar ssr, it slaps.

The thing is I snipe with dmrs so I don’t think it matters. A dmrs weak damage can be made up by their fast fire rate

@@yese2769 yes however they preform much better at close range than snipers, at least in my opinion. The same goes for the SVU which is good at medium and close range because of the headshot range but falls off at long range due to its poor velocity and long range damage.

if Stylis designates weapons class from its real world role, SVU is indeed sniper not really apply to games but just gonna say it

NTW-20, 20x110 is as you know, 1 shot all ranges, better muzzle velo, 20x110+heavy barrel gives 42 studs pen and 3000 somewhat muzzle velo

Glad the m107 wasn’t nerfed even more it still is my fav sniper that i have used. I might like the ntw better but I don’t think ill ever save up the credits to get it, can’t even think of getting it with rank

Can you check if the FT300 with default ammo 1 shots torso? The previous stats had a 1 shot torso range of ~60 studs. The new update seems to not have a 1 shot torso range according to the stats; but the gun feels like it has a 1 shot torso when I used it ingame. (75 dmg * 1.33 torso multiplier = 99.75). Maybe its a rounding error with the way the stat is displayed?

If stylis removes or does something similar to an attachment they need to refund it I remember when they changed the names of the ks23 long barrel and shells then magically I didn’t have them anymore and I didn’t even get a refund

.375 Cheytac has been excellent at long ranged engagement, much more than default ammo IMO. Solely because one shot headshot with 3800 velocity is good enough. Torso kill range just doesn't matter much.

Theres so much gun that when i leave the game, it froze for 4-9 seconds

It's only for me or for you guys too? the bullet cycling of the 2 dragunovs are very slow for me, I need to wait close to 1 sec to shoot it again

My boy intervention took hell of a nerf. 38 RPM sucks, but I'll still use it regardless. I want this change reverted though

I actually don't like high zoom irons so I'm the one guy that will use the Mosin alt aim if I'm not using the Malcolm 3x like a hipster

I got almost a 1000 kills with the model 700

The Mosin 8mm nerf pisses me off. It's not an effective headshot gun at sniping ranges, it doesn't have the muzzle velocity of something like the Intervention that has shorter body shot range, you now load the magazine INDIVIDUALLY which is actual rectal cancer (the Henry .45-70 is single load, but it has a faster bolt and higher magazine capacity). The only thing the Mosin was good for was playing hard and fast, getting close to the enemy and having lightning fast reflexes to take on multiple targets. Now it can't even do that.

2800 velocity is not bad at all, im sure u could get thr hang of it pretty quickly. 20 more fire rate and 5 extra bullets is 100% worth the damage and velocity tradeoff.

handeling is how the gun handles, for example the walkspeed, aim speed, reload speed, bolt speed etc.
