Marty , you don’t know me … but you taught me how to play guitar. Been teaching me for almost a decade .. you rock man .. thank you for all you do
Top five favorite song of all time for me . Such powerful lyrics, incredible voice of Toy with his guitar playing and the flute . A 10/10 song for me
Marty, Dude, Thank you so much for teaching this song. This is one of my favorites for almost 50 years! Wow! Time does fly. I am just a beginer (again) in my golden years, but now I have the time to devote to really learning to play. I am commited to getting this song down pat, no matter how long it takes. If/when I get it right I'll move on to Amie by PPL. If I can get those down before I die I will be able to rest in peace. Thanks again for all your help. You are the best!

How did it go? Have you got it down? Amie is good too.

@@v2807 Thanks for asking! Yes, I play the hell out of it everyday. The very first thing my hands want to play, then I tune up and it sounds like a real song. I'm sure my wife is tired of it, but just wait till I get started on Amie, Ha!

"Oh! Can't you see, Oh! Can't you see what Marty's lessons have been doing for me?" Thanks Marty, but I think by law you should wear a cowboy hat when teaching this tune.

Every time I start getting discouraged and not sure what to do next, there comes a video of yours that gets me going again. I’m a late beginner at 47. We’ll been about 18 months or so. But thanks for sharing your gift and making our goals achievable. Myself I struggle daily but I’m determined to get there. Thank you sir
Your lessons are fantastic Marty. I always wanted to play this one properly. You have shown the important little details to make it so much easier to learn. Thanks!
Hey brother, when I was a young man, you helped me learn concrete basics that shaped what I believe to be the monster of a guitar player I am today. Thank you.... R.I.P EVH

Back in 1979, Matt Minglewood and his band recorded a version of this song that you have to hear. In Canada it is legendary , as is Matt, who is still out there rocking and kicking ass, after all these years.
Great lesson as always. I'd like to request you breakdown the electric part you played at the beginning. Gave me goose bumps! Thanks

Let’s gooooo Marty. Love you bro, classic right here. Best guitar teacher out there brother 🤝❤️
You’re the freaking man dude. I love how you teach
When I was a kid,I made a flute out of a piece of bamboo, with 6 holes in it covering a finger on each and the middle of outer set of three I would work for the intro and played it perfect. A country boy did same to chuck that in there.(no doubt,)Very simple it is to recreate. Marty's lead here sounded great, loved that tone...

Still have that bamboo flute.lol...Luckily was same tone as intro.

I’ve been playing this song for a few years and I’m not much of a picker, but you just gave me incentive to do it the right way. Time to drive my wife nuts with this repetitive tune. 😆. Thanks for doing this song.

Saw them in Davenport Iowa a few years back at an outdoor festival on the banks of the Mississippi River. A thunderstorm had just blew through. There were only about a hundred or so of us left to see them. My rear end got wet but what a great show.
Thanks , very cool

Hey Marty, can you please do 3x5 from John Mayer, it’s an old classic song, but i can’t find the right way to play, because is see that a lot of those lads play the song different. David
Marty please could you do a lesson for gov't mule she said she said. Could be somthing similar to this lesson sounds like nice easy chords with some nice lead ideas. Would be awesome to hear your interpretation of it. Cheers mate 👍
Hi, Marty I have been learning from you for about a year now and now play in a band. I would love to see a tutorial on Where the Streets Have no Name by U2. I have been trying to figure it out for a couple weeks but can't get it.
For 10 years as a kid....I thought this song was "Kansas City, ohhh Kansas City, what that woman has been doing to me.". Which makes no sense.
