Hmmm, I don't think you know what "talent" means. They're obviously very talented; however, not everyone will be a fan of this type of music. I'm not a fan of Rush, but I recognize their talent. The Mars Volta is critically acclaimed and has been praised by musicians in many bands (most of whom you'd probably consider "talented").
@SixelaElocin14 жыл бұрын

The thing about at the drive-in and The Mars Volta… They didn’t necessarily sound good live, but they knew how to jam with each other. Their energy and how much they owned the fact that they weren’t the best sounding live band contributed to the appeal of seeing them perform. As flawed as they sound live, they still remain one of my favorite live shows.
@tearpixy12 жыл бұрын
This makes me want to see them again sooooo badly. Their live shows are intense, I felt like I was on drugs. I met Cedric after the show, we talked about the history of the Cain's Ballroom, where they were playing. All around nice guys and extremely talented.

@egorja So true. Jon Theodore was and will forever be the best drummer for TMV. He had the perfect groove and style for their music, never underplayed or overplayed, and kept everything on time. @trenken "I'm a casual fan"...that's where you went wrong. Many casual fans expect the live show to sound exactly like the recording. The live versions of their material are more often than not their own separate creation. I love the album recordings, but the live versions really make you appreciate the band even more. I happen to love their high-enegry/chaotic stage presence. Listen to some more of their live material to really appreciate what's going on.
