Absolutely brilliant. Modernisation done well. Everything makes sense and it's very funny.

I began to discover and appreciate Mozart from this version of The Marriage of Figaro. I saw it again almost 20 years later. Thanks for this version, modern and funny.

I watch this on VHS years ago, it was the first Figgero I'd seen, and even now when I've seen dozen of productions it's still my reference point for the characters. I just wish they hadn't cut Barbarina.

This production has always worked for me. But perhaps you need to understand the nuances given by the very English locale of a National Trust property still lived in by the family. The most heart-rending "Dove sono" from Jan Hartley and Simon Butteriss's wickedly funny Don Basilio. Made by a British company for a British audience.

Download 'Any Video Converter' (AVC). It's free and safe to use. You can copy and paste the KZread URL into AVC, and download it. Then convert it into any number of different video formats (use MP4 if not sure). To get the resolution for a video; right click on the video and select 'Stats for Nerds' It will show that this video has a resolution of 484 x 360, so that would be a typical size to save it to in AVC. Hope this helps

@@markiliff I doubt it. Mozart wasn't British. He was a human being.

I don't mind the production, but the butchering of the music is unforgivable!

No, the music is still vivid here. Nothing is butchered.

Nonsense, the performers are singing in tune with great timing and phrasing. This is Mozart's music, it's divine.
