One of the worst fullbacks of all time defensively; and he never performed for Brazil, not even offensively. We were much better in the World Cup with Filipe Luis, every time Marcelo came in we lost

I am not a Real Madrid fan, but Marcelo is really a phenomenon. Very skillful LB and passer.

He's still my favourite person in that squad. Love his attitude and spirit.

I am a barca fan, have been since I was 7 (19 now)… all the teams barca played and Madrid were the best of them. I developed a special respect for certain players from madrid, this legend being one of them. His game was on another level and he will forever have a place in my heart as one of the best lbs of all time.

It’s been 2 seasons in a row he’s playing bad. Mendy, even Reguillon, has been far more superior than Marcelo in the same span. The greats can only be great for so long, there’s a point where they just can’t keep up. That’s football for you.

You obviously haven’t been watching because his decline was observed in the start of the 2017/18 season but he recovered his form in the second half of the season. He’s had a below par 2018/19, 2019/20 season (Some bright moments) and he’s been nothing but a liability this season.
