Good thorough review and demonstration. I have been saving my pennies for the Rodecaster Pro....that thing is 6 hunny, but feature rich. This one might be a good starter unit. Gave me something to consider.

Fantastic and very open heart review. I am an artist/designer/teacher too. You've given me proper direction for my purchase. But don't know why now a days this product isn't available online. Instead the toy like version (AU-AM200) of it available. You are lucky to have this one.

When recording into adobe audition, is there a way to split all the mics and phone, etc. Right now I see if I do multi-track I get separate tracks but each track records both mics and phone/music. They are not separate, even when I select the mono option or line 1 and line 2 etc?

That is a strange one, because if your output from the Maono, is captured by your computer sound card, it should also capture the phone audio as well. If you are hearing it in your Monitor it should be recorded. I wish I could of more help🥴

What annoys me about this device is that it doesn't have any EQ. The "Lite" version (which doesn't have any XLR inputs) has some rudimentary EQ knobs. Nothing fancy, but that kind of thing can help take some of that audio processing load off my computer while livestreaming. Why wouldn't they include that functionality in the XLR version? Good video though. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Agreed, this is what you get from China. Even their own website leaves a lot to be desired on their systems. Just to click on About on their site. They talk about as guy named Alex. like we all know who this guy is LOL. if MAONO means Vision in African, then their vision should have been to buy a RODECaster Pro first and make something else like it that did more.

The audio quality is determined a lot by my environment, which is has a lot of echoing. I deliberately did not clean up my audio in post to show raw recording. But it could easily be corrected. I did have my mic a little too high, there was some clipping. 🤦‍♂️

@@paulaikenphotography I think the issue is the Maono condenser mic. I got mine with it too and frankly it's just not a very good mic. The pre-amps in the Maonocast aren't awful (not as good as the Procaster but it's much less expensive too) and if you're looking for a good inexpensive dynamic mic (which means you likely won't need the noise reduction) try the Behringer XM8500 or BA85A or the SuperLux TM-58. The Maonocast has plenty of gain for any of those. I wish they had included some EQ (even a hi-lo eq would have been nice) and a pan left right

  • @caleyhall

Its not a phantom microphone, its phantom power. Its either a condenser, dynamic or ribbon microphone.. You made a mistake there with ur graphics and wording.. Great video otherwise.. Its not an auto tuner its a guitar tuner for tuning ur guitar..
