alright so I noticed something really funny- in PK's Hazbin Hotel review he mentioned how the cartoon was marked as "18+" or "for adults" but the humour in it is very childish and juvenile. he even mentions how this kind of humour doesn't appeal to him. now take a look at his very own channel. he says it's aimed for adults or people who are over the age of 18 yet his humor is basically "poo poo pee pee OWO what's this" aka very childish humour. on top of that he covers a lot of topics that young teens/children are interested in such as animation memes. *do I smell hypocrisy*

I V I don’t think anyone here is taking him too seriously? We’re just commenting on what Pkrussl presents on his channel. You can see that he does a terrible job of differentiating irony with seriousness given how so many people are torn on whether or not his terrible art advice is ironic or not. Personally, I believe it’s ironic, but he does a bad job at conveying it. Furthermore, “I played hentai games when I was 11 and turned out fine so 13 year olds who see his ass and balls on Twitter should be fine” is an anecdotal fallacy that makes no sense. You have no way of predicting how kids reacted to it aside from your own experience. I knew kids that were very squeamish towards genitalia growing up, either from parental teachings or trauma. I just don’t see a reason why someone would do that while knowing that half their audience is comprised of minors.

I V I mean, there’s studies proving that being exposed to sexual imagery/pornography affects brain development in young teens, so take that as you will. You’re still relying on anecdotal arguments that don’t really add to the conversation. As I said, the reason people are “taking this too seriously” is because Pkrussl sucks at differentiating seriousness and irony. I can see why people would misinterpret his humor as seriousness, because he’s terrible at conveying irony when he’s trying to make a joke (because often times, they never land.) Just saying that there’s a reason why people might be taking his stuff “too seriously.”

Same here. I feel he only attacks the bad side of the fandoms and just completely ignores the actually good overall parts. Like fandoms that aren't based around something that actually physically exists (tv shows, games ect.) For example, CountryHumans. I have been in it a long time and, I can say, there is a lot of bad/cringe/sin art in the community, but what fandom DOESN'T have that kind of content. Personally I like to look at all of the art. This is just my opinion on the matter

The day I liked the wrong person, despite having the same opinions I have.

After working with Parker on merchandise for himself and his brand, I've slowly started to have a distaste for his content and him as a person. I've only talked to him like once or twice outside of a "business setting" but he seems very money driven and EXTREMELY hypocritical. I've never really felt the need to come out about my experiences with him, I still really don't think it's necessary for me to go into detail *why* I'm no longer a fan of his, but it's something that someone needed to say at some point. The man is a mess, most of what he does is money driven, and I couldn't imagine that he's too happy in life considering what he does for a living and the shit he gets from it.

I keep forgetting that you're younger than me and it's surreal every time you mention it...

Thank you for addressing the Warrior Cats problem. I’m a Warriors fan and PK used to be one of my favorite youtubers. But then, when he started that godawful series just continually bashing my community, I began to feel bad or like I was lesser for liking those books. But consulting with some friends made me feel better and more secure about myself and what I love, so I slowly drifted away from PK until I stopped watching him altogether.

When people pointed out that the videos were following the book, that he was being stupid for making a video he had NO knowledge on, and that he had no right to criticize something he doesn't understand, (a little side note: the "you dont have to be a chef to know the food is shit" comeback I see a lot from him and his supporters is invalid because yes, you dont have to be a chef, but if you dont know the work put in the food or how its cooked, you clearly dont know jack shit about food preparing enough to criticize how its made, this can be said for animation) he lashed out and said the community was toxic because they were mean to him. Criticism is one thing, but the complete lack of respect he had towards the effort behind the pilot was just kinda gross. That and not being able to go 5 seconds without complaining about something in a whiny voice was beyond irritating.

i still remember his warrior cat MAP review, one of his biggest complaints was that he didn't get what was happening... of course, he didn't get what was happening when he wasn't even familiar with the warrior cats book series... he makes fun of people for "not taking criticism" when he himself cannot take criticism, whenever someone disagrees with him he gets salty and makes follow up videos making fun of them and calling them names. either that or he makes a video saying "guys it was satire UGH why do you take me so seriously?"

PK Russl has gotten this far because his content hasn't really relied on him making sound argument. Majority of what he's done on his channel is based around humor. Recently he's attempt to make content that requires far more thought then he typically put in his video. At least with the terminology and the contentious topics he desire to tackle.

People like him make so many fandoms look like garbage, especially to whose who don't bother to look more into the fandoms.

I used to watch PK, mostly after his "cringe" series closed out and he moved on to the "Animation Meme Review" content. I discovered him through his video on the Spoctor drama, which I had followed from the very beginning. However, after some reflection, I found myself losing interest after every video of him just screaming "NO!" and "ZERO!". Many animation memes are sub-par, but they're (usually) either made by kids trying to get into what their favorite artists are doing or by artists making a rushed product for goofs and gaffs. I also found that PK was letting his ego spiral out of control when his "Animation Meme Review" series came around, as he would constantly talk over Spoctor in their collaboration reviews. Whenever Spoctor would want to give a video a different score, PK would jump to "WHAT?! NO! IT'S ZERO!" until Spoctor would either relent or conform. It was subtle, especially in collaborations with people other than Spoctor, but it screams red flags in hindsight.

Your character got a noticeable upgrade. It's very crisp and a lot cleaner compared to your previous renders. Did you figure out how to work with vectors? Or did you hire an artist to create an updated character sheet? Either way, I like it a lot. It's very expressive.

He's said he's going to cancel AMR a number of times in the past and has always gone back to it, so idk how faithful he's going to be this time.

I stopped watching PKrussel ever since he defended Kero The Wolf.

Warrior Cat fan here! The series has its dark moments like a cat gets his tail cut off by a fox trap, kits die quite often, and just a lot of death and darker themes in general. I remember seeing those videos popping up in my recommendations but I never watched them since "cringe" content is not my favorite kind content I like to watch, I make exceptions but they're rare.

Just Carly I 100% respect your opinion. If you genuinely enjoy Warrior Cats more power to you. That being said, how were you able to keep up with the books and enjoy the writing? I personally felt that ending at “Forest of Secrets” (third book) would have been fine because that is when Graystripe leaves and fireheart becomes deputy

@@jadendafinger I can still like the series but not be a big fan of the writing at times. Hell, sometimes it can make me laugh. Looking back to the first set of books though, the one thing I remember bothering me the most was Fireheart's relationship with Spottedleaf. If they wanted to have him have a crush, that's just fine. I just think his "love" for her wasn't earned in the long run. It would have been nice to have more scenes with them bonding and to flesh out Spottedleaf more. Spottedleaf's Heart still gives me chills.

I know this video is well over a year old but I feel like I need to address something that PK said that you mentioned in this video. And that is to do with the “I play an exaggerated character” excuse. I find this excuse to be somewhat flawed as that just seems a little redundant. Why? Because how exactly is being an exaggerated version of oneself a good excuse, and how much exaggeration is he really playing? Slightly exaggerated? Because his character and himself are nearly identical so there’s nothing really to go by with this excuse. It’s like Doug Walker and Nostalgia Critic; while the latter is an exaggerated character of the former, there isn’t much difference since both Doug and his persona aren’t really any different.

That second warrior cats MAP he "reviewed" got taken down because his fans sent hate towards them :/

I mean he's not wrong but the hazbin hotel review was just mean most of his videos make sense like when he explained why the gacha community was disturbing or you know why do animation memes repeat the same exact thing in the video

Glad you made the video and I also hope he will be alright. He seems to be going off the deep end a bit with how social media has been taking a toll on his mental health. I saw the beginning of his live stream earlier today and he seemed too energetic in an uneasy/tense kind of way. I know he’s going through a lot with how he mentioned about his dog being old and sick (potentially passing) so I really want him to take a break from the stress either that comes his way or he brings upon himself.

The Hazbin review is what fucking ended him also the other reviews he did on communitys.

Okay, can I mention that PK said in his tweet claiming Vivzie illegally claimed his review that his is the "only one that is critical"??? Like I swear to god, not only is his video not critical, but there's no way in HELL there's not a Hazbin Hotel video that gives actual real criticism.

And I find it very strange how he was “defending” her and then when his video got a copyright strike, he immediately jumped to the conclusion that she herself took it down, when the truth is that the team behind Hazbin don’t give two fucks about this guy and never bothered him in the first place.

He does streach a joke for too long: moaning, call himself gay, furry, soasf

I know PK only from his videos on the warriors map (Multi Animator Project) reviews he did. He often said that none of the styles were consistent but that was never the point of them. It always irked me. If the host wanted styles to be consistent, theyd make an on model only. Most of the maps are for fun, to build up an animation reel for schools, and to just experiment with your own art style and creativity. There are some on model maps in the community but most of the time, its just for fun and to see and showcase all the talented artists within the community. While i dont read the books anymore bc theyre boring and repetitive, the art is always so amazing and a true labor of love. I always found it unfair for how much he shit on those who just wanted to have peaceful fun. He would endlessly nitpick like theyre Disney level animators and not just some teens wanting to have fun and experiment with their art/animation style. Not everyone is going to be perfect but theyre trying to improve and thats what matters. Idk hes always irked me. Edit: a lot of the MAPs he reviewed were old too (like Little Fang) and thus they werent the artists best works. They were at the time but now theyve evolved through, oh you know, doing more animations and maps

genuine question: does he even animate? does he understand how hard it is to animate? i've been working on a ONE MINUTE animation for over eight months. it's hard, and i don't think he understands the sheer amount of effort alot of meme animators put into their work. yeah, it's easy to just look at a meme and judge it immediately. but idk, when you animate you have a new appreciation for it.

I’ve never liked PK, and never understood why he had such a large following, particularly in the animation meme community. I always thought his ‘reviews’ were way too harsh and never offered any constructive criticism. It just seemed like he was picking out videos clearly made by children and saying “look! This is bad!”

Can I just say I love the art style for your character in this video? I’ve only seen like one other video, but I felt the need to say this because I used to get bullied for drawing noses like that. Great video btw.

I was rewatching this and then I saw "kero the wolf might be innocent" then I remembered why I hated him so much. Holy shit how could you think someone who had so much evidence against them is innocent?? I'm a furry, and I don't speak for all of us obviously, but literally most of us hate him, we know what he did and we reject him. Holy fucking shit-

I respect this video and you. You bring up a lot of points that I've thought about. He criticizes a lot of fandoms with the Cringe videos, poorly reviewed Hazbin Hotel, and just doesn't follow a certain formula. I really like how you take the time out of your life to make videos like this.

I'm gonna have to put my word in about script use, and that's because I feel like people can be perfectly fine without a script when it's cut and listened to. While scripts DO help with organization, the same can be done with bullet points or just thinking it through as you go in a more segway fashion. Not using a script can be seen as amateurish, but only if performed poorly. To me, it's more of a preference, and honestly several channels go without a script and manage to sound professional. The rest of your points are great, though. PK really doesn't seem to really care about what he does and maybe even does things to stir up attention and clout

Staxlotl I agree a lot with your points. Personally for me, I can’t stand some videos that don’t have any organization to the speaking and editing of the content. Rambling gets hard to listen to in a focused video format since there’s repeated points, more over-lapses in logic, and overall a drain when there is no sense of topic-spacing. However, I do listen to certain podcasts that can remain entertaining, and there are KZreadrs that can speak freely but still stay on topic. It’s just that so can’t and it really shows. I like some of PK’s videos and how he tries to tackle issues in the online art community, I just need to pause occasionally to assess what I listened to. I still think he can provide quality with more effort put into research. And with that whole Vivziepop situation, he could have been more honest/understanding and the Twitter photo, it’s a yikes. I’m genuinely wondering, hoping his mental state is alright.

Hearing that you're younger than me, yet can be so mature, and so.. adult, that's really something. I really applaud you for being so mature about things like this. And for being so good at video making.

It still disappointing to me where I thought he was growing as a content creator when he genuinely did some videos talking about actual art critiques, and he made some great points in those. And then the Harbin Hotel situation happened, and he went right back to square one 😑

I'm slightly offended that all these 15 year olds sound like grown ass adults and I'm over here, at 25, and people ask if my moms there when I answer my own cellphone

He should really cut back on the alcohol, before it completely detoriates his brains

I enjoyed video which is his take on Petagrin. However, that is until his take on the Countryhuman fandom. He only focused on the negative aspect of it. I mean really.
