During "Discovery Day: El Sistema" on December 8, Carnegie Hall explores Venezuela's spectacularly successful El Sistema educational program and its influence on educational thinking in the United States. The afternoon features a keynote lecture by Dr. Leon Botstein, a panel discussion with Dr. José Antonio Abreu, and a screening of the documentary "Dudamel: Let the Children Play."
Thanks to the producers for permission to show this clip from the Alberto Arvelo's documentary in which the many expressions of Gustavo Dudamel are at play.

He is my favorite living conductor. I never miss a concert when he comes to NYC.. He is a genius. Phenomenal!!

I also have conducting experience. I'm not as expressive & energetic as him. I have my own unique style as a conductor. I be expressive using only my hands. (Baton also but only for certain songs.) I don't be expressive with my face. It remains serious because as a conductor, I mean business! My style is very controlled, delicate, dainty, & simple.
His hair does most of the conducting😄. Ravel's Bolero conducted by Gustavo is my favorite. The depth and power of the sound he elicits from his orchestra is phenomenal.
Am I the only one who gets excited just to see him rehearse with his musicians? I wonder what would happen to me if one day I get to enjoy an actual concert...😬🙊

Yo creo que he visto todos sus videos y muchos de ellos los he visto N veces. Realmente el sabe transmitir lo que está en las partituras y además los músicos que dirigen captan lo que quiere y sobretodo las orquestas de Venezuela porque se conocen por décadas ya que han crecido estudiando música e instrumentos para tener esa precisión, pasión y mucho amor por lo que hacen.
Con respecto a Norma que dice que ama a GUSTAVO DUDAMEL, quien no lo va a amar, es tremenda figura, un maestro de la música total, un excelente ser humano y fuera de eso un hombre muy bello.
Es un gran orgullo latino, maestro!!
