That's probably one of many reasons why Arthur Filloy, the animation director for Mr Big Cartoons, gets an upfront credit. He's one of only two animation directors for the show to get one!

In an interview with Thad Komorowski, Filloy not only supervised the animation on most of the cartoons sent to Mr. Big, but also timed the exposure sheets and drew and redrew most of the layouts.

Oh yes. Usually the Australia-animated episodes like this look pretty wonky, but this is a rare example of really good animation from Mr. Big Cartoons on this show.

Joey Beetle = Joey Bishop Dean Mayfly = Dean Martin Peter Locust = Peter Lawford Liberace = Liberoachy Jerry Lewis = I guess Jerry LeWasp I guess they didn't wanted to include a bug version of Frank Sinatra since they already parodied him as SNOTRA in an older episode.

Well, not all of the era was bad. This was one of the better episodes in the era. I also really enjoyed "Stimpy's Cartoon Show", "Ren's Retirement", "Hard Times for Haggis", "Ren's Bitter Half", "My Shiny Friend" and "Ren's Brain".

I JUST LOVE this cartoon series! ALL of the parodies are SPOT ON. This had such grossness that I couldn't get enough! It made my Sunday mornings bearable.

After all these years, I never seen this episode as a kid. And I'm glad I didn't. It would've scarred me forever.

It's clear to me now that I'm older that each Ren And Stimpy episode takes place in different parallel universes where either Ren, Stimpy, or both face death or a life-long change that doesn't continue in other episodes because they're different. It explains why Wilbur Cobb looks slightly different in some episodes or why Ren and Stimpy have lived in so many houses; because they're not the same dynamic duo we've seen for all the seasons. It explains why Mr. and Mrs. Pipe have two babies in one episode but then in another, they're just a couple who live in an RV. Does anyone else notice how impossible that would be if we were just watching one timeline?

I’ve seen a version of this on Twitter that just trims this to where Sammy grabs Liberoachie and bites his head off. No context given. It made the scene tons more disturbing. It made me think that Sammy was a mutated Ren, going around just eating people’s heads off. Never saw this episode till now. Knowing the fact that Liberoachie asked for it to happen made it just a tad less disturbing.

Why was the original one the sammy mantis was eating heads off.

This episode was actually banned by Nickelodeon due to its jokes and disturbing content. It actually aired on MTV instead. Nickelodeon actually banned a lot of episodes of Ren and Stimpy from reruns in the 2000s/2010s due to inappropriate content.

I grew up watching Ren & Stimpy, and I have NEVER seen an episode where this happened. And I am glad because, even though the cartoon has always been weird and slightly disturbing (which is why I loved it), that scene where Sammy bites off that guy's head while he's screaming would have given me nightmares. That would have been way too disturbing for me to watch as a child. As a matter of fact, I thought that whatever episode this disturbing scene is in came from the Adult version on Spike TV, but people are saying that they remember watching the episode with this scene in it as a child. I would have thought that Nickelodeon would have cut this part out. I can't imagine the Nick execs approving of this scene on a children's channel. And only the female mantis bite off heads.
