Auckland is a very much underused and underrated saltwater fly fishing destination but once you know where to look and how to target the three prominent species, kingfish, snapper & kahawai, then you'll quickly open up a new world of Auckland fly fishing opportunity and spend less time in the car heading elsewhere for your fix.
In this video we've got Manic's Reve Vaz taking us through a look at the basics in gear, setting up your saltwater fly fishing tackle, which flies to use, and then hitting the water for a morning targeting kingfish, kahawai and snapper while sharing tips and techniques along the way.
The fact you can be battling a metre plus kingfish on an eight weight fly rod less than five minutes from a boat ramp should be motivation enough for you to get out there and give it a go!

That's cos those were the not the first fish, or even the 20th fish he'd caught that day...but yes, will get him to run a few laps of the warehouse this week :)
