This man traded his life with 12-13 other people , what a LEGEND, the definition of courage, 99% of people (including me) would have just run to safety , he didnt. He is not dead he is Immortal
We love you Welles. You saved my mother, me and my child
This is one of those stories that it's impossible not to tear up.
Why can we not name schools after people like Welles Crowther. Colleges, universities trade schools. People will learn and their legacy of bravery real bravery will live on. It touched me to see so many comments from young people saying they learned of Welles in their school. God bless him, the student and all the victims. They all went to heaven that day.
They have a really cool exhibit at the 9/11 museum talking about this and they have a red bandana on display. It has been a story that has tocued my heart for years.
Who else is here 20 years later and the story still hits soooo hard 😭😭
Every year in middle and high school, my social studies teachers showed the class this video.
Amazing Story. Wish I had the strength to do that.
One of my high school teachers was his roomate at BC. He tells his story every year on 9/11 and shows us this video. He is a hero and will always be remembered as one
I’m crying. His father loves him so much it make me cry. A true hero.
Since this was featured, I've made it a point to watch this every 9/11 just to remind myself to be like Welles
Wearing my Red Bandana all the way from Barbados in his memory. Thank you Wells. God Bless America
He's truly one of New York's finest ppl. His courage and compassion will always be respected, honored and never forgotten. So much respect for him and his families.
Saw this in school and what this man did was amazing. Wish I had the courage and confidence that he did to completely risk his life for his country when he could’ve lived easily. The sad thing is sometimes it takes events like these to unite America. Respect for my guy.
I hope he didn’t feel anything. I hope he didn’t feel much pain. He didn’t deserve this. Rest easy Welles. You saved so many lives.
“If you can stand, stand and if you can help others do so.” We need more Welles Crowthers
My teacher made us watch this today. Everyone was on the verge of tears while writing a writing prompt.
The pain of the parents is overwhelming.
please never let this guy's legacy die he was a hero and probably the coolest person to have ever lived I'm watering my eyes as i write this...Welles your live in this planet was short but you'll forever be remembered rest in peace
I wasn’t even born near 9/11 but I cried and I said he was a hero
