The Man Cave Sessions: "Across from Midnight" Tony Joe White. Cover by Dick Laing.

(Tip: Best to use headphones, buds or external speakers for optimum audio experience).
Another variation of a Tony Joe White number. (Also Covered by Joe Cocker). This is my take on "Across from Midnight". All footage was captured on iPhone using the Filmic Pro app. Audio was re-mastered in GarageBand to add vocal harmonies, keyboards and additional percussion. Final editing was accomplished in Premiere Pro.

Hi Dick! Would be good to have details of your kit (hardware and software) in the comments. You're getting a good quality of sound...

Never heard you before but seriously, you have a great voice. The equipment you're using such as lights, microphones etc would be of interest since it could help for uninformed people like myself.

Ben Picard ... thank you for your kind feedback. The video was filmed on my mobile rig. It’s an iPhone 6Splus with a professional filming app called Filmic Pro. Actually the lighting was a bit of a lash up with only one video light hastily positioned to throw extra light as smartphones make it difficult to achieve noiseless sharp images in low light conditions. The light I used is a YongNuo YN600L MkII LED panel. As a video producer by trade I always kept in mind what I could achieve in post production using colour correction and effects in Premiere Pro. The audio elements (guitar, fx and vocals) were all pre-mixed using a Behringer Xenyx 8 Channel mixer and then fed into a Zoom H4N Digital field recorder. In other words I do not record the audio into my iPhone - only the video. The audio elements were remixed in GarageBand and additional instrumentation and vocal harmonies were added. The master audio track was then synchronised with the original camera footage in the final edit - for which I use Adobe Premiere Pro on an iMac. I hope this helps you. Feel free to ask further questions. Cheers. Dick.
