Evelyn Ferguson It's the same with me..my first name is Vernon. Never liked it and no one in my family ever called me Vernon. To family and friends I was either Wesley or Wes. When I asked where the name "Vernon" came from; I was told that my teenage sister had a crush on a guy upstairs named Vernon. I like my middle name, however some have called me the founder of the Methodist Church !

Cass's shift to the natural in her first chorus is so elegant. The tacked piano is a perfect backing for the harmony. She was a vocal gem. I'd love to have had her live longer and decorate our lives further with her beautiful voice.

That's the legendary Larry Knechtel coming up with the piano parts (including that wonderful solo starting at 1:38 ). He was the genius behind the arrangement and piano part on "Bridge over Troubled Water", the Hammond organ for "Good Vibrations", the harpsichord on "MacArthur Park", the lead guitar solo on Bread's "Guitar Man" and the bass guitar on the Byrds "Tambourine Man". And that's just the tip of the iceberg, yet most people have never heard of the guy (sadly, he's dead now)

1.4k disliked this beautiful tune by the late Mama Cass Elliott (1941-1974).🙏 What's wrong with some people dissing a beautiful tune like this, She had a beautiful voice along with Karen Carpenter (1950 - 1983)🙏 and Patsy Cline. ♥️🎶🎸❤️😍🎤🎼🎵🎧😪🎹, Who was only 30 when she died in a plane crash in 1963 R I P 🙏, Just tragic.Wonder if these 3 had survived in 2021, Would they still be performing in today's world? THE mind boggles, Makes me Greet listening to this classic 😭😪🎼🎶😍

When I came to Germany at the beginning of 1992 , I was 25. It was a hit on every radio station. I thought it was a new song. I had never heard it before. Now I'm 55, almost 56. And this song still breaks my heart every time I hear it.

I cant listen to this song without crying, it reminds me so much of my father. He isnt gone, he hasn't passed, i just weep at the thought of one day hearing this song when he is and no longer being able to hear him sing it. I miss him while he's still here, and I long for him to stay forever so I can always have him here to sing it for me.
I'm in my school's quoir. This year we did this song. We were invited to play at our country's government building for [Countrywide holiday]. First school to ever book a gig there, and on one of the most important days of the year for our country, too. Alto section! It was so much fun to perform this for government officials. "Dream a Little Dream of Me" is a 1931 song with music by Fabian Andre and Wilbur Schwandt and lyrics by Gus Kahn.[1] It was first recorded in February 1931 by Ozzie Nelson and also by Wayne King and His Orchestra, with vocal by Ernie Birchill. A popular standard, it has seen more than 60 other versions recorded, with one of the highest chart ratings by the Mamas & the Papas in 1968 with Cass Elliot on lead vocals.
