SANJAY GUPTA pesh karte hai - As a South Indian born in MP, mere Mamaji ko lagta tha k meri hindi kamjor na reh jaye. So he got me my first comics, I believe it was 'Adrak Chacha' in 1993 or 94. Bas tabse no looking back. Aaj bhi maine saari comics ko sajo k rakha hai. Agli baar ghar jaunga toh yaado ka pitara zarur khulega. I can relate with Apurv and Ravi on all aspects of being a Raj Comic fan, as they geeked out on the show. Thank you guys for bringing this podcast. Aaj bhi mujhe yaad hai k in comics ne meri soch pe kitna achha asar kia. For eg. Nagraj bartender se doodh ka glass maangta hai. Dhruv ladkio pe haath nahi uthata hai (mostly sare superheroes aise hai). Doga din mein bodybuilder hai. Infact I started doing exercise at home reading 'Doga ki Kasrate'. Oh mann, Raj comics ne bahot diya hai. Pehle nani k ghar jate samay 'railway station' se, fir thursday k din naye set ka intezar karna kisi choti si stationary/library mein. Kabhi Newspaper wale bhaiyya se mangwana. Sunday ko naya set aata tha unke paas. Poora process samjtha tha main k jaldi kyu nhi aa skti. Aur ajkal online order ka zamana. I grew up with Raj Comics. Aur haan, main waise Hindi mein class ka topper bhi tha. Thank You og 'Raj Comics' team for being my best friend in childhood. Abhi ke liye - Samaapt.🙏

even i felt offended when ''chandika tumhare haath itne mulayam kyon hai'' fiasco happened :P anyway nostalgia triggered...maine apna first entrepreneurship RAJ COMICS kiraye par dena shuru kiya..apni gali mein khaat lagakar...50 paise normal and 1 rs for DIGEST... and all that when i was 11-12 years old and bought my first ''RANGER'' cycle from the sales and threw my first ''PEPSI AND SMOSA'' party for my friends.

Raj comics ke characters खास कर ध्रुव और नागराज ने मुझे इतना inspire किया कि मैंने स्केच करना शुरू किया और मुझे याद है कि सर्दियों की धूप मे घंटों तक अपने प्रिय चरित्र ध्रुव, डोगa, नागराज, शक्ति, परमाणु, आदि की अलग अलग तरह की स्केच बनाया कर्ता... खेलने से भी ज्यादा अगर कुछ प्रिय था तो वो थी मैं और मेरी कॉमिक्स की दुनिया... Champak, नंदन, सरिता, कादंबिनी के साथ साथ राज कोमिक्स की दुनिया. और उन सब के साथ साथ बच्चों के बारह उपन्यास, लाल रेखा (कुशवाहा कांत रचित) , प्रेमचंद के उपन्यास , शरतचंद्र की मर्मस्पर्शी कहानियां, केशव पंडित का जासूसी संसार (वेद प्रकाश शर्मा), जो मिला सब पढ़ गए... वो वाकई अनोखे दिन थे__ बेफिक्री मे मस्त और वास्तविक दुनिया से अनजाने में घुला हुआ मन.

Yes so many beautiful & real things you people have discussed. And yes it's right I am also the one whose art became good because of these comic characters. My younger brother and I used to draw these characters in an art book and over roof with chalk 😅 I gifted one of my sketches drawn in the childhood to Sanjay sir in Mumbai 2024 ComicCon recently. Totally nostalgic session. I hope to find more sessions like this. Pls invite Anupam Sinha sir also.

Ravi bhai ki tarah mujhe b goosebumps aa gye, definitely i want to see Part 2

Bam bam Bigelow was actually a character in wwe also. But I saw it first in Nagraj. Later on when I grew old, I saw a wrestler in wwe in early 90s named Bam Bam Bigelow which later became the Big Bossman. The actual person playing the character is sadly no more.

Bhai yeh Raj comics waala topic tab tak push kartay raho jab tak Bollywood isey seriously lene lag jaye aur fatafat ek aad movie bana dey. Loved this episode, warm wishes for Sanjay Gupta Sir for giving us so many amazing characters. I have read the comics preceeding Raj, like Indrajaal, Manoj, Diamond, Amar Chitra Katha but Raj dominated like no other, Tulsi Comics followed after Raj Comics with some good characters but they did not last very long. Eventually the entire Comic book era came to an end, which is very unfortunate. Amazing to see that he is talking about Vinashdoot, Gagan and Manas Putra, I've read them all 😀

Ravi Gupta, I always thought that the quirks of creating my own comic characters and drawing comics were unique to me. Today, I found out that others were also inspired by Raj Comics just like I was. So relatable!

Same cheez har journey pe krta tha, or har term exam ke baad. Aisa anand milta tha comics ko padke or unko collect krke jo shabdo me baya karna muskil hai.
