If the movie could be made (filmed) from Luttrel's literal memories and visions (eyes) of what happened, I don't think anyone would be strong enough to even watch it.

I don't really think it would make that much of a difference. The way the story is shown is pretty much how it happened, just more intense in some situations. You know, most people probably couldn't go thru this without giving up but just watching it isn't that big of a challenge.

John Wayne Well no, the movie ins't all that accurate. It is but it isn't at the same time. First, Danny was shot in the head as Marcus was about to jump off the cliff. The shift in dead weight through Marcus off and he dropped Danny. Next, after Murphy made the call he was shot four times in the back and "spun like a top" (Marcus said that) He then crawled behind some rocks and yelled Axe and Marcus because at that point he was running on adrenaline and they were the only thing on his mind. Next, Marcus didn't sleep through the night. He crawled all night passing out a few times. Finally, the rescue. There was a combination on ground forces of Rangers, Special Forces, CCT's, and PJ's to go get Marcus. The rescue took place at night and the Heilo that picked up Marcus did it in the middle of the fire fight. Marcus said it was one of the biggest fire fights he'd ever heard. Considering what he had previously been through that's saying a lot. Anyway, there's more but you can just listen to Marcus tell it himself. Thanks for reading :)

Bob Ross Yes, my comment was writte like 4 months ago. I wasn't really informed at the time. But to be honest I don't know what to believe anymore. There is a former Ranger on Periscope and I asked him about what he tought of Operation Red Wings and he responded with this when I asked him about the mission and why they didn't take ther Goat herders with them. "The Rangers picked those guys up, they found no sign of a firefight. Goat herders, you never let them go because they're gonna compromise your location so what you do is, you cuff em up, you keep em with you until you get on the helicopter once you get on the helicopter you cut the cuffs and tell em to go. The problem with the SEALs is they think they know everything and think 4 SEALs can fight 100s of guys and that's not actually true you know. There is a lot of planing that goes into guys being in small teams and travelling alone so Red Wings, Im not buying into it, I went out in Afghanistan alone for weeks on end to go find guys, I never had trouble, how can 4 SEALs armed have trouble. I don't understand it. Just my opinion." He also said that they didn't find those 100 bodies that Marcus claimed they had killed. So either the Taliban took all those corpses and hided them somewhere or The SEALs didn't kill close to as many he claimed just to look better in the news.

John Wayne Oh shit never mind it is in that first link! WeIl its later in the video but it shows a fucking Tali wearing Deitz's gear its all there even shows them dead. if you have a weak stomach don't watch. I get pissed watching it. I can't wait till I join the Air Force (Pararescue)

Bob Ross Oh ok, I'm sorry you didn't understand my comment. He didn't say the whole thing didn't happen, but that it didn't happen they way they show it happened. It's more of a Propaganda movie because they showed more deaths on the Taliban as actually happened. They probably just ran from them from them and killed a couple of them on the way but that would've made the SEALs look bad. Those guys weren't the best anyways. They made some really bad mistakes. Letting the Goat Herders go and underestimating the enemy. I still don't understand what they would possibly brought them to that idea in that moment.

I proud to do the "Murph" -hero WOD in Crossfit ,every once in a while. (Hero WOD = A workout for the memory of a soldier that died. "Murph" is a memory for Mike Murphy from Red Wings. I'm not American by the way...

I knew about Operation Red Wings before the movie came out. I thought that they did a great job with the movie. The support of the families as well as veterans as advisors made this movie special. And aided with accuracy.

Backpacker BrewokTV he paid a million bucks for 5 seconds of FaceTime.

The only bad thing about the whole story is that marcus left his friends to die only to save his own life. Gulab the Afghan man who saved marcus said that marcus had all the mags on him which means he didn't fight back.
