A cliffhanger. You are such a tease! Have you made any other videos about the models you've made?

The only other video that I can think of Barb is the one where I demonstrated how to make the tires for the world war II Jeep tires that I made but I see that you've already viewed that one. Model builds are hard to wrap your head around and they really don't translate well to a video. Check out the Facebook page for my channel for the model builds and other projects that don't make the show. facebook.com/kennyearrings1/

The famous knuckle buster, I stop using that tool long time ago... Too dangerous for me!

The knuckle busters can be dangerous Ray but as long as you take proper precautions and pay attention to where your hands are, you can use them quite safely with no problems. It took a couple of raps on the knuckles to figure that out though. LOL. Thanks for tuning in.

I have a knuckle buster that has 2 cutters. I started drilling and 1 of them flew off. Hit me right in the chest. I didn't get one of them tight enough. I was trying to not strip the allen screws. You really want to get them pretty tight. Yep, it hurt for a long time.

Holy crow, that's terrible. I hope that you are okay and that there wasn't too much damage done. It's a dangerous hobby that we pursue. Lessen learned to risk stripping the screw and save your chest I guess. Thanks for tuning in and taking the time to leave me a comment. Great to hear from you .

Hi I have also had experience of hitting my knuckles on this type of cutter, but it was not the hand holding the wood, it was my other hand turning the drill press knobs. I did not think it would get down low enough but I found out the hard way so let your viewers know so they can avoid this.

That's definitely good advice John. We should be keeping an eye on all of our digits, not just the ones in contact with the wood. Any skin contact with a power tool is a terrible thing and I'm sorry to hear about your accident. I hope that all heals well. Be safe out there folks. We have a dangerous hobby.

@@acutabove_woodworkings I watched the video previously and that's what brought me to the question that I am seeking answers to. How did you make the slots in your index wheel?

  • @acutabove_woodworkings

@@imanutnur7 The grooves in the indexing wheel were cut with a scroll saw. I drilled a blade entry hole and then cut all the grooves afterwards. If you don't have a scroll saw, it's not a problem. This is only an indexing wheel and it's only purpose is to guide your pencil to be able to mark where you are going to be routing the treads of the tires. They do not have to be an interior cut and in fact, if it suits you, you can just cut all these indexing grooves at the band saw or even with a small hand saw. Any of those methods would work just fine. I hope this answers your question Tom and that it helps you out.
