Well they were originally going to be named Cheney, Laughton and Quint after the people who portrayed Quasimodo in the past but Disney was gonna get a lawsuit so they changed the names.

Victor Hugo's sister was named Laverne. Hugo's middle name was Marie, or Maria, so they may have missed an opportunity there...

It’s because parents thought it was too adult themed. They tried to revive it with a second one that was friendly family but it flopped before it was even released

You should check out the musical version! They did a lovely job on it, and it should’ve gone to Broadway, but frozen took its place.

Looking back on the original and it’s adult tone I’m starting to wonder was the creation of Touchstone Pictures really necessary ?

I miss this era of animation. The new films are fantastically animated on computer but there's something missing. I wish Disney would produce some film with this style of animation again

I remember watching this movie in theaters with one of my best friends. What do I remember the most? 1. Being so angry at Frollo for his damned religious alphabet. 2. Being creeped out by Frollo’s desire for Esmeralda as he sang Hellfire. I remember asking my friend; “Is this a movie for kids?!” 3. Being blown away by the God Help the Outcasts scene where Esmeralda is walking between the rows of candles. That image is breathtaking. When Notre Dame caught fire, this movie was the first thing I thought of.

Tony Jay (May he RIP) could not have been more on the nose. Once you’re in a Disney Animated Feature, your legacy is *CEMENTED* for generations to come.

Now this type of Animation is what Disney must bring back. And I want to visit the Disney feature Animation building and talk to the studio about my Art talent how I draw and sketch characters.

This is the best movie ever made by Disney, I have watched it non stop since I was little. Especially when I had a vhs, man I popped that thing in everyday I got home. This movie is true beauty and art.

I love how they don’t even mention Hellfire- even though it’s the most popular song in the movie lmao. Also how they show Clopin’s scenes and clips of his songs but don’t talk about his character 😔

That's interesting because at the time, the song was controversial. MPAA actually insisted that Esmeralda's spirit in the fire to be fully clothed as she was originally nude. Ironically, the song became more and more popular, especially on KZread.

Tom Hulce was really handsome. I don't disrespect his decision, but I can't believe he retired. He did a marvelous job playing Quasimodo.

I’m low key interested in that. TNT did a live action adaptation of the tale once in the early 2000’s but it wasn’t this one

While this is somewhat nice to see the behind the scenes part of Hunchback. This would have been better if they got one of the directors or Tom Hulce/Tony Jay to Host the whole segment and take it more seriously as opposed to go all humor on this. If anything. The parts where they attempt to be humorous in this special are actually far worse than the majority of the appearances from the Gargoyles in the actual Hunchback film and it's sequel. Also. The end is quiet horrifying as opposed to being cute or charming. It almost sounds as if Mickey, Donald, And Goofy and about to come in with Shotguns and baseball bats and beat the everliving snot out of Jason before shooting him as opposed to course correct him. Also. Speaking of Jason walking around at 18:02 with the choir from the beginning of Hellfire is concerned. Why do I now see the possibility of George Costanza singing Hellfire one night about one of his crushes in my head?
