The Maine Event Gets Underway: Greasy Boulders and Sloppy Mud | Part 1 - Ultimate Adventure 2018

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Part 1 of Ultimate Adventure 2018. While UA2017 started on one of the hottest days of the year, UA2018 kicked off in the cool climate of Wilton, Maine, right after the skies had dumped rain all night long. With little fear of dehydration this year, the group rolled out for the Rocky Mountain Terrain Park in Carthage, Maine, to wheel some of the toughest trails in the Northeast. Huge rolling boulders and severely steep climbs make these some of the most challenging trails around when it’s dry. But add a whopping 24-hour deluge which only tapered off as the group was airing down and you know the action is gonna be epic. Will 21 vehicles make it through the day unscathed or will Mother Nature Prevail? Find out in Episode 1 of Ultimate Adventure 2018. For more action, videos, pictures check out fourwheeler.com/ultimate-adventure/.

    This event always has some of the most cool & innovative rigs. Right off the bat I'd say my top three are the fan invite Willys Wagon cause' those are always sweet in any scene, the JK with the Gladiator clip as most unique, & the DeRange Rover for the ode to the Camel Trophy days. Awesome stuff fellas, so excited to watch an entertaining adventure!

    This would have been the time to have Interco as the tire sponsor. Falken makes a great rock tire, no so much in nasty mud.

  • @Blackneck1994

    @Blackneck1994

    5 жыл бұрын

    draggonhedd that’s what happens when the sponsor provides rubber lol. These rigs would tackle the trails relatively drama-free with tires from Interco or Maxxis... Which I’m willing to bet is what they normally run like smart people ;)

    Marcus Mar exactly! Well said lol and is what I think about every year when they show up on Falkens

  • @Blackneck1994

    @Blackneck1994

    5 жыл бұрын

    The Caleb Downey it’s the same way with Top Truck Challenge when they hand out Baja Claws. It takes no time at all to look at a tire and have a pretty good idea of how they perform. The Falkens just have way too tight of a void ratio and not nearly aggressive enough sidewall. I’m sure it’s a great tire for people who want more traction for a daily driver truck that goes off road, but when it comes to purpose built rigs like these, I would put Interco rubber under them hands down. TSL SX IIs would be all around perfect for the kind of wheeling they do on these trips.

  • @trentmcgee6738

    @trentmcgee6738

    Neither. Locking hubs disconnect the front tires from the rest of the frontend; a locking differential sends power to both tires equally when engaged and doesn't allow slip between them. Two entirely separate pieces of equipment that do very different things.
