How delightful that you discovered the Fairy homes in the woods and that Aife got to enjoy them too. There are some fairy houses at the base of a couple of trees in my urban woodsy neighborhood in Seattle, WA, USA. I've collected felted gnomes too from the Nordic Heritage Museum gift shop. Magical wee folk abound!🧚🧚‍♂🧚‍♀🧙🧙‍♂🧙‍♀ It's been fun following your adventures during your winter van trip in Scotland. And how "Daddy Monster" chases Aife and Athena, with giggles and fun delight! The lovely woods with lichen and moss plus how there are nurse logs with little trees growing from fallen trees reminds me of the nurse logs with young trees in the forests of the Pacific NW, USA. Lovely cinematography and drone footage. I love to see fallen trees re-growing like that, too I didn't know it's called phototropic growth. Viva messy nature! Similarly I love seeing the shoots from man layed hedges reaching for the sky at 3' a year. 😮 ripples caught in the ice ?! It's good to see the rise of Vivobarefoot. I used to run a bit in barefoot shoes 20 years ago. With the rapidly dropping price of lab grown leather, that's another interesting aspect for them to look at. (All meat and meat products can be grown in labs, it's just a matter of scaling up production to reduce the costs)

Loved the morning footage outside the cottage. I wear trail runner shoes for summer hiking and ascending. I do prefer to feel the ground undulating under my feet . I have had more trips and falls wearing ankle high boots.

Amazing video and really enjoyed seeing your family have another adventure. Aife's speech is coming along so well and i can totally relate to the games to keep a toddler motivated to keep walking!! X

Love this video guys! Scotland is just so magical isn’t it? I have actually fallen in love with Winter since moving to the far north of the Scottish Highlands. Your videos are inspiring! I just shared a video in my channel of a stunning hike up here that you’d love. If anyone wants to check it out and let me know what you think I’d much appreciate it 🙏

Yay, Dartmoor! I live in Devon and have gone to Dartmoor a lot, it's close enough to me but I don't drive so don't go as often. Would love to bump into you there. Also am interested in Vivobarefoot , can you link the scientific research you mention? I want to see if it's appropriate for me to try as I have plantar fascitis (such arch pain caused by running and I've been told to wear shoes and inserts to correct the way I put my foot down so not sure barefoot would be right). Finally, I loved Aife skiing!

I’m keen to know how well vivo barefoot shoes last. I’ve seen quite a few reviews on their Trustpilot saying the shoes fall apart quickly and aren’t really high enough quality to actually last for years, which doesn’t seem to line up with the values of the company. I don’t want to invest in something that won’t last, but I am interested in barefoot shoes for all the reasons you state.

Interesting on the vivo - been looking at these for the last week. Was thinking of them being my replacement when my current boots came to end of life and that’s happening. Would you say they are suitable to long hikes, mountains, farmland, woodlands etc. been doing up to approx 20miles and wasn’t sure if they’d be suitable.
