Michael Jai White is proudly living up to his African heritage and enthronement as a chief by one of the Ghanaian tribes with the display of the Ghanaian Kente cloth in the church and he himself wearing a Dashiki shirt at the ending part of the movie. Biggest mistake of Gangster: Spilling more blood than necessary which get them drown in their own blood. If Alvarez just let the spill goes, he would have keep his life. This is similar to the movie Peppermind, the drug lord murdered the protagonist family to spread terror, despite she and her family never do anything to him. In the end, the drug lord got himself killed

MJW was in another movie called The Hard Way in which his brother was killed. And the guy that owns the island sounds like a Mr Han type character. I'm still interested in seeing this movie anyways.
