The Lumineers on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson Apr 4 2012

The debut national TV performance of Wes, Jer and Neyla ...
I've been trying to do it right, I've been living a lonely life
I've been sleeping here instead, I've been sleeping in my bed,
I've been sleeping in my bed.
So show me family, all the blood that I will bleed
I dunno where I belong, I dunno where I went wrong,
But I can write a song.
I belong with you, you belong with me
You're my sweetheart;
I belong with you, you belong with me
You're my sweet
I don't think you're right for him, think of what it might have been if you
Took a bus to Chinatown
I'd be standing on Canal, and Bowery
And she'd be standing next to me
I belong with you, you belong with me
You're my sweetheart;
I belong with you, you belong with me
You're my sweetheart.
And love, we need it now
Let's hope for some
Cause oh, we're bleeding out
I belong with you, you belong with me
You're my sweetheart;
I belong with you, you belong with me
You're my sweet

I was there for this - working as a page for CBS. I remember being absolutely dumbstruck by the performance. Trust me, as good as they sound in this video, they were twice as great live. I met them afterwards, and I came *this* close to saying, "Hey, have fun at the Grammys."

But you did Mentally,they knew.
That mandolin player has the prettiest smile Ive ever seen.
Look on their face while performing tells the entire story..such a great band..the world needs more musicians like The Lumineers!
This is the best band ever, i just saw them in Denver and they blew my mind!
Miss Craig. Look forward to seeing them next week.

Craig was the best host on late. I will be seeing the Lumineers again in Sept but it won't be the same in an arena and without Neyla. The addition of new members is fine, but she was such a treat to listen to - playing and signing. And cute. ;-)
Nothing like a good band that enjoys the music they play.
Love the song.
i love how much fun they're having while performing
I am in a really good place in life right now and loving this song!
I love his voice, very unique:D
holy shit his voice is amazing live.
In my sweet heart....
The guy with the hat is like the Flava Flave of The Lumineers... he's just gets everyone hype.
LOVE them
exactly what i was thinking!
Love this version so much!
I love this song!
Thanks for approving my Lumineers video response. And thanks for posting this video!
The Lumineers is performing live on The Late Late Show this afternoon. 😃
they're amazing! love this song, it reminds me of wade & zoe from hart of dixie.
As usual, my little state churns out some of the most talented people in the country. Armpit of America my ass! =)
Gotta love it when the audience jumps in too.
Hey Ho, you belong with me--you're my sweetheart. Love it.
Love how they kept the song simple, didn't extend it by adding an awful A chord or B chord section to extend it. Stayed pretty much in the chorus part like good old oldies songs that were around 3 minutes or so.
LOVE IT!
This is real music.
proper music
Finally a group to fill the void left by the demise of the White Stripes!
this is music, real and no computer needed to fix it
very good.. phillip phillips sings hey ho *-*
omg idk what it is abotu Neyla but i think i'm in love with her. lol
Holy shit they sound just as good live as they do recorded.
Yes you can, yes you do!
My favorite talk show host (Craig) needs to have my favorite band (Mumford and Sons) on.

OMG, It's the tragically hip and smooth rockin Adam Trachsel!!
thanks to everyone who has watched and liked this video. I saw the Lumineers in Vancouver and they are outstanding live, so if you get the chance, go and see them!!
wow there fucking awesome
I can't say flat or sharp but I just thought I noticed a dissonant quality on this video that I haven't heard before on the others. Still enjoyed it a lot though.
It's been a big year for them since this night.
Want to see. Come to L.A., please.
it's the music that is truly awesome ... but I certainly won't disagree with your point :)
Thanks for your comment! I feel the same - they are coming back to Vancouver in Sept and I already have tickets :)

Yes it certainly has! I caught them just as they had moved on from the little minivan that they had to take turns driving from gig to gig, to a bigger van that they still drove themselves ... I wonder what their tour transpo is now :)

@AleyAppleGaming Yea how Schultz treated her was shameful, all because his ego couldn't handle her talent. I remember seeing them early and she always looked so happy just like Jeremiah always seemed to be having fun, her voice and playing were always such a big part of the show. Then at one show I you could barely hear her, I though maybe the sound engineer was just having a bad day but later at another show it was the same. Then I noticed other people talking about it as well and realized that she was intentionally being potted down and effectively removed from the performance. Quite similar for whenever they did "Unreleased/Unnamed song", he would sing the first line with little to no response, but when she saying the next the crowd would always go nuts. You could actually see the reaction in his face, it was like it physically hurt him that she could get such a response out of the crowd and he wasnt getting the attention. I remember the last time I saw them live she looked like she was just going through the motions & miserable, and once again you couldn't even hear her. I decided I wasnt going to see them again after that, sure enough it wasnt long after that I heard she was leaving. An incredibly talented and beutiful woman who brought something truly special to that group that can never be recreated. Ive seen videos of her "replacement", not to be mean but she couldn't hold a candle to Neyla, not even close. Neyla brought class to the group while the new girl *literally* rolls around on the floor like a clown.
Its one of four things : -the Bass and Guitar are not synced in tuning ( But then again it sounds 0.KSometimes )- -when he hits the guitar as hard as he does, it could twang in and out of tuning - -The neck on his guitar could be damaged or might need a tad bit of tweeking. His guitar gets a fair old hammering every night , its bound to have faults over time Btw the tweeking is number four
no worries!

Even if the guitar is slightly "out of tune" they sound amazing! People enjoy this amazing band cause most of the stuff you hear these days is crap!!
theyre playing in dublin :)
Neyla Pekarek looks like Natalia Lafourcade... btw! is a great song...!!!
Thanks for your comment!
To me the guitar sounds pretty consistant with other recordings I have heard...when I listen to it on my home computer which has (Brag Alert:) an awesome sound system. When I listen to it on my work computer it does sound slightly off. It might not be the guitar at all though. It could be lots of other things. The microphone, the sound board settings, distance from microphone etc etc
I didn't hear anything...wrong. Just enjoy it guys, they've done this one flawless!
If you live near Seattle, they will be playing the Capitol Hill Block Party Sun July 22, with Cloud Nothings, Dam Funk, Phantogram and NEKO CASE!! Only 36 bucks! Pray for a sunny day (sometimes a rarity in the NorthWe(s)t even in July ...)
Sorry for the euphemism, but folk music is what I love the most from the US. :)

ANOTHER hookup between the Lumineers and big box office; I just saw a promo for 'Silver Linings Playbook' - a movie I have on my gotta see list - and the promo soundtrack? 'I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweetheart ...' :)
I have heard this song so many times via radio, KZread, live, and I've played it over and over on their CD, and it sounds as expected. Personally, I don't hear it as "out of tune" - but now that you mention it, maybe there is a quality to the guitar that is somehow noticable. Did you think it was flat or sharp?
I'd say that the B string is slightly out, and also the intonation on the A string:)
Neyla is playing a mando in this version...so..maybe the mando just gives it a different sound from the cello...
Lead singer looked like Colin jost then but now looks like Charlie hunam
The guy with the tamborine looks exactly like Woody Harrelson
not dictating, just expressing a preference, hope, wish for more insightful comment ... thanks for your input
that girl reminds me of my girlfriend just a genuine girl not one of those bitches you see in those damn rap videos no self respect this is what gives me hope for our future girls like this!
;)
good song...from a tragically hip fan
@Richard Cejer @shaledawg @TheMosef AND @seegfg - yeah, ok: either Jer or Wes looks kinda like Woody Harrelson. Since all four of you came up with this gem, I guess it's TOTALLY "original." However, I fail to see why you think this is such an important observation that you are compelled to share it. I'd rather people commented on the music. Thanks!
What a beautiful girl with a quitar *in love*
GReat Band!!!! Pure talent. Not coached.
WHO is that bass player???
Hey there Lumineers fans, it would be great if you could take a moment to check out ---The Riverside--- on facebook and give a listen to some of our songs! Let us know what you think about our music! We are a family band in Santa Barbara, CA who love the Lumineers as well! Cheers!
Woody Harrellson has a band?
and she plays the ukele
I agree the music is the main thing that brings people here to view them. But the "THEM" are people, humans and ultimately other people draw comparisons to the PEOPLE playing the music. When you post a song, you provide a forum. It's better if you dont try to dictate the "Topics to be discussed". Having said that, I absolutely RAGE over all the a-holes that just jump around youtube to say rude, offensive crap. I call them "KZread Heros!" haha
of course, you're entitled to your own opinion ... one of my best friends found their set at the Capitol Hill Block party "a bit boring." Moby thinks Bowie's "Heroes" is brilliant (I agree) but some could say it's kind of simplistic. Thank god we all don't think the same thing, or the world would be just ... bleh.
girls looks like sasha gery jus in this vid!
While the band has made the leap across the Atlantic to the UK, "Ho Hey" is making the rounds ... as the closing song of the season opener on the TV series "Bones" and playing in the background of promos for Clint Eastwood's new film "Trouble With the Curve." Hmmm I guess that the song and the refrain are evocative, not stupid "childish attention seeking" as one (and ONLY one) commenter claimed. :)
these guys are so much fun to watch live. check out my cover ... JOIN THE MOVEMENT
as am I - and aside from the intelligent, creative songcraft, what makes the Hip worth seeing live is that they have (or maybe mainly Downie has) PERSONALITY (even if it's sometimes demented...) What I cannot stand is a band that's bland, and it's that quality of real stage personality that Wesley, Jeremy and Neyla also have going for them.
Is the guitar slightly out of tune?
The dude is wearing suspenders and a belt?
Its a mandolin.
no argument.
also no argument
Shut up and enjoy the music ;)
No its not out of tune, it is DI'd though so sounds a bit dodgy.
Woody Halrison was way good on the tamborine.
um ... Sasha Grey? Who is she? >.> lol. I actually think Neyla is much cuter :)
um, know who she is, mostly because of entourage, but was just kidding around. and still think neyla is cuter mos def ...
His guitar is really out of tune.
