The Lumineers on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson Apr 4 2012

Музыка

The debut national TV performance of Wes, Jer and Neyla ...
I've been trying to do it right, I've been living a lonely life
I've been sleeping here instead, I've been sleeping in my bed,
I've been sleeping in my bed.
So show me family, all the blood that I will bleed
I dunno where I belong, I dunno where I went wrong,
But I can write a song.
I belong with you, you belong with me
You're my sweetheart;
I belong with you, you belong with me
You're my sweet
I don't think you're right for him, think of what it might have been if you
Took a bus to Chinatown
I'd be standing on Canal, and Bowery
And she'd be standing next to me
I belong with you, you belong with me
You're my sweetheart;
I belong with you, you belong with me
You're my sweetheart.
And love, we need it now
Let's hope for some
Cause oh, we're bleeding out
I belong with you, you belong with me
You're my sweetheart;
I belong with you, you belong with me
You're my sweet

    I was there for this - working as a page for CBS. I remember being absolutely dumbstruck by the performance. Trust me, as good as they sound in this video, they were twice as great live. I met them afterwards, and I came *this* close to saying, "Hey, have fun at the Grammys."

    Craig was the best host on late. I will be seeing the Lumineers again in Sept but it won't be the same in an arena and without Neyla. The addition of new members is fine, but she was such a treat to listen to - playing and signing. And cute. ;-)

    Love how they kept the song simple, didn't extend it by adding an awful A chord or B chord section to extend it. Stayed pretty much in the chorus part like good old oldies songs that were around 3 minutes or so.

    @AleyAppleGaming Yea how Schultz treated her was shameful, all because his ego couldn't handle her talent. I remember seeing them early and she always looked so happy just like Jeremiah always seemed to be having fun, her voice and playing were always such a big part of the show. Then at one show I you could barely hear her, I though maybe the sound engineer was just having a bad day but later at another show it was the same. Then I noticed other people talking about it as well and realized that she was intentionally being potted down and effectively removed from the performance. Quite similar for whenever they did "Unreleased/Unnamed song", he would sing the first line with little to no response, but when she saying the next the crowd would always go nuts. You could actually see the reaction in his face, it was like it physically hurt him that she could get such a response out of the crowd and he wasnt getting the attention. I remember the last time I saw them live she looked like she was just going through the motions & miserable, and once again you couldn't even hear her. I decided I wasnt going to see them again after that, sure enough it wasnt long after that I heard she was leaving. An incredibly talented and beutiful woman who brought something truly special to that group that can never be recreated. Ive seen videos of her "replacement", not to be mean but she couldn't hold a candle to Neyla, not even close. Neyla brought class to the group while the new girl *literally* rolls around on the floor like a clown.

    Its one of four things : -the Bass and Guitar are not synced in tuning ( But then again it sounds 0.KSometimes )- -when he hits the guitar as hard as he does, it could twang in and out of tuning - -The neck on his guitar could be damaged or might need a tad bit of tweeking. His guitar gets a fair old hammering every night , its bound to have faults over time Btw the tweeking is number four

    To me the guitar sounds pretty consistant with other recordings I have heard...when I listen to it on my home computer which has (Brag Alert:) an awesome sound system. When I listen to it on my work computer it does sound slightly off. It might not be the guitar at all though. It could be lots of other things. The microphone, the sound board settings, distance from microphone etc etc

    I have heard this song so many times via radio, KZread, live, and I've played it over and over on their CD, and it sounds as expected. Personally, I don't hear it as "out of tune" - but now that you mention it, maybe there is a quality to the guitar that is somehow noticable. Did you think it was flat or sharp?

    I agree the music is the main thing that brings people here to view them. But the "THEM" are people, humans and ultimately other people draw comparisons to the PEOPLE playing the music. When you post a song, you provide a forum. It's better if you dont try to dictate the "Topics to be discussed". Having said that, I absolutely RAGE over all the a-holes that just jump around youtube to say rude, offensive crap. I call them "KZread Heros!" haha

    of course, you're entitled to your own opinion ... one of my best friends found their set at the Capitol Hill Block party "a bit boring." Moby thinks Bowie's "Heroes" is brilliant (I agree) but some could say it's kind of simplistic. Thank god we all don't think the same thing, or the world would be just ... bleh.

    While the band has made the leap across the Atlantic to the UK, "Ho Hey" is making the rounds ... as the closing song of the season opener on the TV series "Bones" and playing in the background of promos for Clint Eastwood's new film "Trouble With the Curve." Hmmm I guess that the song and the refrain are evocative, not stupid "childish attention seeking" as one (and ONLY one) commenter claimed. :)

    as am I - and aside from the intelligent, creative songcraft, what makes the Hip worth seeing live is that they have (or maybe mainly Downie has) PERSONALITY (even if it's sometimes demented...) What I cannot stand is a band that's bland, and it's that quality of real stage personality that Wesley, Jeremy and Neyla also have going for them.
