We absolutely love a young player who gives his all here, he will be worshipped never mind looked after. He has a brilliant coach to learn from and our team captain who is a dogged determined defensive midfielder is an absolute model pro and a great example for a young pro. I do not think in England he could have not gone to any other club that would offer him a better development environment while still having a good chance of getting game time. Michael Carrick was a world class Manchester Utd (although he was born and grew up within 60 miles of here, the North East is known for its' love of football) and England defensive midfielder the other main coach played for Real Madrid and England and was a world class defender. All things considered and bias aside I do not think he could have gone to a better club. A lot of Europes top teams were after signing our similar aged Dutch right side defender and I mean the very top clubs in Europe and he chose to come here last year. Anyway I hope he does well and if he does there is a fair chance he will be in the Premiership in the season after this one. UTB. (Up The Boro, it goes years and years back )

I don't think people not from the US really understand the heat here. Our league is athletic, but summer games are often played in the low to mid 30s C. So our players are usually super fit, but we probably can't keep the intensity quite as high for a full 90 playing in that kind of heat. As a result, the press is often a step slower, you have a little more time on the ball, etc. He slotted in for us at 19 years old as a surprise starter for the ill Darlington Nagbe in the 2020 MLS Cup final and was *incredible* as the youngest ever starter in that match's history. He's grown a lot under Nancy over the last season and a half (all after the ACL injury). Really impressed with Dana's read on him; very accurate. He doesn't score many goals, but he has hit some real screamers. We are the most possession-oriented team in the league, and his strengths are definitely winning the ball back and helping to keep the ball moving. This season his fouls committed (and cautions) were both way down, while his fouls suffered were way up, and I think that's a sign of his continued maturation about picking his spots more carefully.

Hey Columbas Crew guys, our head coach Michelle Carrick was an outstanding defensive midfielder known for elegant football, reading the game well with a great eye for a pass so I think he will be great for a young player in his position. The two guys you spoke to seemed like good guys.

You're getting a winner!

Looks like a promising prospect and hope he gels with the squad, he will be a fans favourite if he can adapt. Got one of the worlds best in his position to be coached by.

I'm quite excited by this signing. If he is able to replicate what it sounds like he was able to do in the MLS it sounds like the type of central midfielder we've needed the past couple of seasons

Just know from a crew fan you're getting our starboy, he's an incredibly strong and hard working player, the abuse he takes in a game and the amount he runs is insane. But don't get it wrong, he's not just a workhorse. The kid is also gifted with his dribbling and vision. He will be a MAJOR piece for you guys. Also I gues im a boros fan now 🤷‍♂️

I have never saw Aiden Harris play I can’t judge him yet but hopefully he’ll adapt to the team and I am going to a pre season friendly against sc heerenveen on Saturday 3rd August where hopefully I will see me play and what he can do

I get Clayton under Karanka vibes - at least a 4 star rating for me, not least because he looks like he’ll be filling a hole we’ve had for a while. Looking forward to seeing how he gets on.

I hope you can improve his quality in the attacking 3rd but he’s already 22…

I can see this from a player focused standpoint, but as a team, we don’t need that from him. What we need from him is exactly what he’s evidently very good at - breaking up play and dictating games.
