I remember playing this game when I was like 6-7 and the first time I played it it scared the shit out of me to the point I cried. I used to play pacman world, Harry potter, need for speed, lion king, spyro and so... And suddenly... That intro of the DreamWorks kid getting ate by some raptors, then the eerie and primitive atmosphere of the first level, with predator noises in the background and having to kill and eat big insects and other dinos in order to survive... It was too much for me lol

This track when your playing the game really does make you feel like a small, vulnerable Dinosaur. In a way you can kinda consider this as the Compy’s theme.

I come back here a lot - best soundtrack ever. Each song encapsulates the mood perfectly but this song is my favourite as it also brings back so many memories.

It definitely is a great one! So many memories with this soundtrack. The composer here also composed for Jurassic World and the second part I believe. You can hear some parts in this soundtrack in the movie. I forget which ones though.

For those who don't know, this was composed by Michael Giacchino - who many years later ended up composing the soundtracks to Jurassic World and its sequel :D

The intro almost makes me cry! I played this game all the time as a kid, and while it was extremely difficult and sometimes even unfairly frustrating it had effort put behind it. The music is insanely good and has aged like fine wine!

I'm glad Beaver gave this soundtrack the attention it deserves. My favorite childhood game is finally being recognized! 🙌

This game is so old but its still is one of the greats I mean come on, you got to play as the T-Rex. I don't know why they stop putting the soundtrack on the game. What happen to the good old days when you could put the game in a CD player and listen to the music? This game was really underrated.

I love this theme. It greetded me so primitively, like the Dinosaur i was playing myself. I expected to play a human, but no. I played one of the prehistoric world's smallest predators. It was amazing..

I remembered how fun this game was and a bit scary . It was fun to play as the Velociraptor and Compy 🙂. The music score was fantastic and i was happy that composer Michael Giacchino who did the music for this game got the chance to do the music score in Jurassic World and its sequels 🙂

Michael Giacchino did all the music for this game back in the day which I loved back then. who knew he still does music and for my favorite movies in recent years too, like MCU Spider Man, The Batman, Jurassic World. This guy's music has always been with me growing up lol

Michael Giacchino must have been proud to get to return to compose 3 Jurassic World movies after doing this masterpiece so many years prior.

TIL Michael Giacchino was the composer for this video game. He also composed the score for other games like Medal of Honor and Call of Duty. He then later composed for TV (Alias, Lost and Fringe) and eventually movies (Star Trek 2009, The Incredibles, Up, and The Batman).

Michael Giachino really is genius, right up there with john williams imho, he did the medal of honor ost and the show Lost as well. which even have those tracks that are from or could even fit in a star wars or jurassic park setting

When Steven Spielberg heard this piece he called Michael Giacchino a mini John Williams.

Michael Giacchino did this score. He was brought back for the Jurassic World movies, and worked these songs in as audio ques for when certain dinos appear on screen.

This was the first video game I EVER played.

The Compy ripping through the Forest taking on it's Theropod Forefather Staurikosaurus was a great Memory.

this soundtrack is probably the best music piece of john williams ever!

By far one of the most characteristic themes of the Jurassic franchise. It fits compsognathus perfectly. It also brings back memories from beaver isle vids

My favorite track from this game, loved to jump around with the Compsognathus in time with the music.

The very first video game I ever played! On my brother's PS1! Later that year, I also played Spyro and Legend of Dragoon... I should really get another PS1...

Brilliant. I was obsessed with Dinosaurs as a child and I persuaded my father to get me a playstation for my 8th birthday just so I could this game (he wanted N64). I remember the almost tear inducing frustration this first level brought on, and the absolute joy I felt when I finally completed, only to move on to a level even harder. If it wasn't for cheats I never would have got to play the awesome T-rex levels.

This is actually the first video game to have a soundtrack recorded with a live orchestra. A turning point in video game history!

This was for a freaking PS1 game y'all. Just incredible. The game was so difficult for me back then, loved it though.

I couldn't hear any tunes resembling this one in the scenes it appeared, but they acted pretty much the same as they do in the game, with all the nervous head-turns and whatnot. I think they even use some of the same noises.

@@kg4boj No, they bite a toddler and she goes to the hospital because of an allergic reaction to the bite. Later in the book in the last few pages of the prologue, a midwife comes into a room where a newborn is sleeping and she sees the compys eating the baby's face and scares them off, she looks into the bassinet and the baby is dead.
