The Dead Marshes takes this even further, representing “a collectible at its absolute most precious.”
Watch as Richard Taylor and artists discuss their process creating this monumental scene, sharing their insights into what it takes to make a true Masterpiece.
With no other way open, Sam and Frodo must make their way through the marshes with Gollum as their guide. Mount Doom is their goal, and the One Ring their precious charge: a quest demanding secrecy and stealth.
The Hobbits must trust the word and eye of their treacherous guide, who has been this way before and knows its secret ways. Yet with each step the Ring weighs heavier on Frodo and the eldritch magic of the mire calls out to him, drawing him to the water, where green hands hang ready to pull him under, dragging him down to a cold wet grave.
The Dead Marshes invites you to explore every inch, view from every angle, with every component laid bare, to truly do the scene justice. In an instant of terror and tension, no detail can be missed.

Incredible masterpiece. Thank you, to the artists at WETA, for the love, skill, and dedication to your craft, and to us LoTR fans, by continuing to make and show us these mind blowing sculptures you continue to create. Even though I can not afford to own this amazing piece, it's a privilege to just be able to see it, and to hear the story from the artists in its development and creation. I wish I could own this one so badly. It speaks to me in very personal ways in regards to my own struggles in life, and those who I could not have gotten very far without. Unfortunately, these WETA masterpieces are above my financial means, but just seeing this preview is a gift.
Wow... just, wow. This is one of the most beautiful statues I've ever seen. Not the most beautiful Lord of the Rings statue, but the most beautiful statue of any line. Stunning work, Weta.

I am a proud owner of all MC's and this piece will also find its way to me. congratulations to the Weta team who continue to inspire me for over 20 years of my life.
I watched this with a dropped jaw the entire time. There isn't even an adjective big enough to describe it. You are all absolutely brilliant. Can't wait for the release.
The Masters Collection series have always been amazing pieces. In the past I've admired them from afar. They are simply a bit more than I'm willing to spend. Although, overtime I find myself regretting not finding a way to make it work. I will not be going through that with this piece. I will find a way. I thought the last piece, the watcher on the road, was going to be the pinnacle. This piece really sets a new bar.

One of my greater regrets for the post COVID layoff reality is all these Masters Collection pieces that I've only been able to appreciate from a distance. A first world problem for sure, but these are all so beautifully executed.

Got mine on order just could not pass on this one, being a huge fan Of Peter Jackson's LOTR and a diver. Okay so you generally don't go diving in marshes but I'm always fascinated by what could be there underwater. You have to wonder when Weta is going to run out of ideas for these beautiful works of art, probably never because they just keep getting better. Weta, still keeping LOTR alive twenty plus years later.
The fact that they care so much is so inspiring. I hope to work with a team thats as motivated to make great work as weta is.

I've been collecting your work for 20 years now. Out of all of those pieces I thought that Treebeard was and would be the finest piece that you would ever make. Treebeard is a glorious piece of art but after seeing this, I can say that I was wrong. You have truly outdone yourself with the Dead Marches. I am stunned and amazed by it. Thanks to all involved in its creation. I can't wait to add this to my collection. Your decision to have the MC series follow the journey of Frodo and the Ring is brilliant. With the 20th anniversary of the ROTK coming next year and after seeing the Dead Marches that you have created for the TT 20th anniversary; I can't wait to see what you bring us next in the MC series. This leaves up to the name of MC!! Verry nice piece!! Thranduil on throne is my favourite diorama I collected by weta so far. I undrestand people that want this piece but is a pass for me.. i would love to see next year the scene (ROTK) of Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli out of the ship about to charge on opponent.. and dead army figures half way out of the ship's side about to appear and also one or two arround them.. something like this.. just an idea.. :)

This looks amazing - just very weary of the plastics in it. the lighting feature of my minus morgul is really bad. it bleeds everywhere it shouldnt and just looks cheap. I hope this is not the case.
