I am a 91 year woman watching The Long Ranger, Tonto, Silver and I believe Tonto called his horse Scout.. It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear The William Tell Overture as i brings me back to the time of a wonderful family.

I'm nearing 84 and I quite vividly recall stopping all outside play so I could come into the house, retire to my bedroom and listen to the Lone Ranger, Cisco Kid, Sky King and several others. My mother thought these radio tales to be terrible entertainment for my young mind to be exposed to ....all of that violence and gunplay. If she could see today's TV shows...well, let's say she wouldn't approve! 1) I imagine you don't know the TRUE reason why the Lone Ranger show finally broke up and ended? Well, seems one day the Lone Ranger finally discovered what 'Kemo Sabe' REALLY meant! 2) There once was a loan company in my area which, for a short time, played the Lone Ranger theme music and billed themselves as 'The Loan Arranger'. The Lone Ranger used words like fairness, honor, respect, justice, and honesty, helping others and defending the weak. I came to regard these terms as the character for a man.

I had the privilege of seeing Clayton Moore, in person, in 1974, when he helped open the new "Sunrise Mall", Massapequa, NY! At age 60. he still stood 'ramrod straight' & had the same regal bearing that he had while doing "The Lone Ranger"! As a 4 year old in 1950, I was able to see this show, from the end of season 1 & tried never to miss a single episode! Children, today, need to have more 'positive' role models like him, today!

I love this film! It's even better than The Lone Ranger and the Lost City of Gold made in 1957. I love this one because it gave Clayton Moore an opportunity to show a different character (he DID have quite a range) and he got an opportunity to smile a few times. He and Jay Silverheels were the two BEST Lone Ranger and Tonto.

I couldn’t help but watch this and other Lone Ranger episodes and movies, they always brings something better to watch and the values of justice and kindness, dignity and respect towards others, values something missing in today’s society. My favorite heroes and horses, the Lone Ranger and Tonto which were unique in their own rights, and solving crimes to get the proper justice done. Heroes today can be described as those who put their lives on the line, helping others, such as firefighters, police personnel, medical professionals, etc., including our military personnel who are doing their duties in protecting our nation from being overtaken by those who desire to destroy the freedoms we have been given by our forefathers, including those of other nations who believe in freedoms of speech, etc., a democracy instead of oppression from others, who wants to enslave others into a world without freedom. The history of humanity is filled with oppression and slavery of others, the negative attitudes and behaviors towards others and also with its consequences towards into nearly destroying all life upon this Earth, which this needs to change in order for a better future and for generations to remember its history. If not, mistakes of the past will repeat and continue until there is nothing left upon our planet, especially now with present technological advances. Future generations will then wonder why and what happened to us, that is if there will be anyone or anything left behind to carry us into the next episode of life.

There is nothing new under the sun. They were no more moral yesterday than today. God always have among men those who seek to live in a moral manner. If everything was so bad sin would abound completely. I do not remember watching the Lone ranger in the 50s but I enjoy watching today.

RIP Clayton Moore... It seems such a shame to me that they made him feel like he didn't "deserve" to wear the hat and mask later on in life, so much so that he had to legally fight for the right to... bless his heart... "I will continue wearing the white hat and black mask until I ride up into that big ranch in the sky." -- Clayton Moore

Good comments even though it was a year ago. Clayton Moore was "the" Lone Ranger. The new movies version was atrociuos and an insult to what Moore and Silverheels crewated. As a kid, I think The Lone Ranger was my favorite or top 3 favorite TV shows. I am going to be 70 and remember so well those shows. My brothers and I had our room filled with Lone Ranger things including bed spread etc. Back in the 50s TV had lots of cowboy shows....

Interesting side note. Clayton Moore usually played a gangster, outlaw or crook before he took on this role. Jay Silverheels real name was Harold Smith
