Thank you so much. I had some pretty major back surgery and kept being told I was getting into bed wrong but was doing something similar to this. Of course it isn't easy but this helps so much and does agitate the pained areas when I get in/out of bed.

7 days post op, dc today and NO ONE HAD SHOWN ME TO DO THIS! Especially on bed at home/no rails! I had read my pt notes and it kept saying i needed to be cued and coached every step of logrolling to get up! No matter what I did I felt wrong because of pain and no one explained! Thank you fusion of s1,s2 to pelvic illiac and also l-4, l5-s1 .

Thanks. Wish I was given some basic information after my “outpatient” hernia surgery. I was in so much pain, I could barely move.

I know this is of course 2 years late but I had a full back operation and after just a day I could lay on my back safely, maybe it is the pain though which I can understand.

Hi! I just had ACDF cervical spine surgery c5/6 7/8 and I can't get out of bed without excruciating pain, even when on pain meds. I was told not to lay on my side, so I'm not sure this works for cervical spine, unless you say otherwise If you can advise, I'd appreciate i that's!

Looks easy enough but not when you're in pain all around your lower back/ hips & again depending on what actual size you are the patient to how much room you have.. Definitely not easy😐❓

I have been doing the log rolling in & out of bed for the past 6 weeks since my spinal fusion operation. However this causes a lot of pain to areas around my left hip joint. I am rolling out of bed on my left side. Will appreciate advice to reduce this excruciating pain. Thank you

Hi! Without seeing how you're getting up or knowing the specific pain, it's difficult for us to tell you what may help. If the pain is coming from pressure, try placing a small pillow to roll onto for the left hip.

Excellent! I'm one month post-laminectomy (L2-S1) and this technique works great for me. I was having a lot of problems especially getting out of bed since our bed at home is rather high. I was discharged from rehab this past Monday; it's now Friday. Thank you!

Yep. I can’t do it. ESPECIALLY since my arms and hands are weak. If you notice, almost every PT on KZread does this on a PT table. NOT a soft bed. I tried doing this on my purple mattress. It’s impossible. My hands sink in. And on Bob and Brad’s channel - they do a version where you get on your stomach and have your legs touch the floor. Well… some people have tight hamstrings, knee problems, and foot problems. None of these people online take that in consideration. All I see is the log roll and I just don’t get it.

  • @zs7869

It is impossible. Hurts like hell. Try it with a real case and you'll know it. Sorry THAT's wrong, you need to look for other way. I know what I am talking about by my own experience (broken ribs on the left back side).

Yep. All the PT’s on KZread do it on a PT table. Not a soft bed. My hands and arms are weak. So they just shake and sink in the bed.

Waiting 2.5 min just to see how the process is done is irritating to the viewer. Save all your credentials last... It's common 'How to''s on youtube.
