"Kaya jam" is pretty much coconut jam, incredibly popular among the locals of all ethnicities (Malay, Chinese, Indians etc). And yes "kaya" also means rich in Malay language :)

@2:45 Most drink vendors will use hot/boiled water for hygienic purposes. Then they'll pour ice cubes that was supplied by the ice vendors into the cup/glass to make it iced drink/water. You gotta mix the drink well before sipping it. You can choose to stir or to shake it anyway you like. 😁

Makes sense now!! I’m sure we’ll be having lots more milo, to try drink it properly next time lol 😜
Milo is Australian but is considered national beverage of Malaysia. Probably the Malaysia’s taste slightly different.

Wow! That’s crazy! I hope it never sells, it’s honestly so cool, very nostalgic!
Instant subscribe! While touristy places are nice, I love getting a glimpse of how local people live everyday lives. It's usually a separate world from the ones with many tourists & a window to understanding the people better

The people living in Kampung Baru are rich people because the land here cost million of dollars if developer want to develop the place...

I hope they never sell it!!
Iced Milo in Malaysia is usually made with milo powder mixed with boiling water (for health reasons) and then topped with ice that you mixed thoroughly to cool the drink down before drinking. You definitely want your iced drink from the streets feeling hot at the bottom as that means that they would use boiled water that would be safe to drink :-D

Times have changed. Drink vendors these days do not serve a complete drink. They just place the ingredients in a cup and hand it to you. You have to stir it up to get the proper taste cold or hot. Gone are the days ehen avdrink comes to your table completely stirred of its contents. A lot of tourists do not ask the sellers for advice nor the sellers advice the tourists, while serving the drinks. It ends up with the tourist providing strage descriptions and comments.

Yes, was a new experience for us for it to be hot and cold, we know for next time to stir it up properly ☺️
Milo and many other things may or may not be originally from Malaysia, but Malaysia perfected it
