People talk about songs like Numb, Crawling, etc. But songs like this along with Drawbar, No Roads Left, and many others, are truly amazing and showed their creative depth. I think people will look back at certain songs like this one and realize that this band was misunderstood when they initially existed. Time will only tell.

I play this song in my car for my 3 year old daughter on road trips. Puts her right to sleep every time. But 10 years ago this song served a different purpose. A darker one, one that helped me get through that time in my life. A year later I met my future wife and things haven't been the same since. Now I have a family and we listen to LP during all our roads trips and it's not going to stop. Thanks Chester for helping me through my dark times and I wish I could have helped you through yours. I hope you found peace. Update: I recently separated from my wife back in December of 2020. It is June of 2021 now. We've both moved on and I have found someone else that I love very much. My ex wife and I have decided to remain friends and coparent our daughter. This song has yet again helped me through another dark chapter in my life and will continue to. My life has changed and I'm happy for it and so is my ex wife. Sometimes life doesn't work out the way you think it will and everything happens for a reason. I hope this change is for the better. I feel like it is. Stay positive everyone and always keep your happiness priority #1!

I fully agree, it's also my all-time most favorite LP song. This track meant so much to me when it was released. I know it was for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, and I was 7 at that time (and continents away from the tragedy), but this song ultimately helped me decide with a moral dilemma I was put on to, as I've noticed all the bullying I went through at that time and didn't know how to react. Should I be the more honest and secretly kind type of person? Or should I be more of a person who knows how to fit themselves with others depending on the situation? Even I didn't believe I was put in that kind of dilemma at that age. But I'm glad this song helped me with it.

I was 15 when Katrina happened. My family and I decided to not celebrate Christmas that year and go volunteer in NO instead . We were rejected by every single organization we called since my brother and I were underage. We still didn’t celebrate Christmas that year and decided to just take the money we were going to spend and donate it since it’s all we could do. To this day when we talk about that year my mom still gets teary eyed because she feels guilty for not helping more. I’m not saying all this to look good but just wanted you to know there were people out there trying to help in whatever way they could……. The way our country handled that situation as a whole was pathetic though

Nobody will read this but anyways.. Everytime I feel bad or something dumb happens I just lay in the dark and listen to this album. This song, is the perfect ending for the session. This is one of the hidden gems of LP, all the people just know LP from Numb, Crawling etc. and don't know this soft but emotional songs. I can't describe that feeling, but everytime I am hearing this I feel better, as would a load fall from me. This is probably my favorite song of all time and saved me many times from fucking kill myself. Thank you for reading.

LP's tribute to the people lost in Hurricane Katrina. To understand this song, it's necessary to understand the devastation caused by that hurricane, and the levees that broke and flooded the poorer neighborhoods. That it's an allegory for a personal story is to better understand its meaning. This is a masterful arrangement.

So is A Thousand Suns. Don't get me wrong, this album is also great; it's my 2nd favorite LP album behind A Thousand Suns and in front of Living Things.

Just give another try to A Thousand Suns. It's the most innovative album. It's the Album not just a compilation of tracks. To realize it's epicness you have to hear it from the beginning without skipping any tracks, without any pauses till the end. It's a concept album about Nuclear war & apocalypse. It contains ambient speeches & snippets to strengthen that feeling( even though title 'A Thousand Suns' give shivers). Each track is unique, ending of most tracks is the beginning to next ones, with each track a kind of event is narrated. Whole album flows like this, it's a Prog album. The album is like a SINGLE MEGA TRACK of 48 minutes. Also Living Things has best production, there's not even a single bad track on Living Things. Roads Unraveled, I'll be gone, IN my remains, Powerless etc are the best rest are good. Hunting Party is the only weak album with 2-3 good tracks rest all are repetitive, forced I would give first five albums 5/5 and hunting party 2.5/5.

Words cannot describe how big of an impact the loss of Chester has had on me to the point that don't know why I'm typing this but he was such an incredibly talented singer and artist and he inspired myself and, i know many others and i feel so deeply lost in this abyss of artists merely dropping off the planet and it's such a shame to see them go without fully realise what a difference and inspiration they have been to ALL their fans. Chester, you were a truly incredible singer who, even God himself could not definitively say your voice had any boundaries. Your music will always live on, in my headphones especially. To Mike and all the band, I'm unbelievably sorry for your loss and i hope to see you guys live at some point in life, my only regret is that the band will not be whole. With love and absolute admiration, An Irish fan

According to myself, The Little Things Give You Away is the best song ever by Linkin Park, as MTM is their best album. Throught all these years, there have been many and many and many times when I thought and said I would have attended their next live in Italy. Now I know that that day will never come. The first time I heard Chester's voice I was ten or eleven, now I'm 21. His death is being hard to realize and it will surely hurt for a long time already. But what a great honor to have grown up whit him. I'll always be thankful to LP, for have guided me to listen good music and love Art, and to live my life trying to tell something more to the people, as next as far they are to us. I would have so more to write, but I guess this has been enough. Thank You So Much Chester, my dear major brother. Keep on Rocking in the free world, always.

I will say, I'm in the same place now. MtM was the first LP album I bought but somehow I completely overlooked this song. I honestly don't remember it from my teenage years. I guess I was more into Given Up and Bleed it Out back then to even notice a masterpiece like this. Then I kinda fell away from their music for personal reasons right before LT was released but came back a couple months ago and started listening to their new stuff and it's reminded me how much I love them. So I've been thinking about going to a concert and decided to listen to each of their albums start to finish and I got to this song and I'm shocked I didn't pay attention to it. I looked up the lyrics and meaning and cried my way through it. And there have been a lot of songs like this that I've completely fallen in love with the first time I actually listened to them. No Roads Left is another one that I think is amazing. I've missed so much lol
