She is a stunning little girl, absolutely beautiful. If she wants to model she will, so very grounded and determined, she knew where to go. As for dad I think she helped him enormously with his issues, just like he has helped her and it was amazing to see the relationship between father and daughter.

Have you head of Hugh Herr? He already designs absolutely amazing bio-mechanical legs. I wrote about it above, I'll just copy and paste whjat I said here for you to read. She gets around very well! With that being said, I still hope there comes a day where all leg amputees can get bio-mechanic legs similar to the ones that Hugh Herr designs. If you haven't heard of him or his work, search it up. They can now perform the amputations in such a way that the person can actually still feel like they have feet by leaving certain nerves in place when they do the procedue, it's really amazing. When I say they can still feel like they have feet, I mean that literally. There are sensors on the bottom of the artificial feet that are somehow rigged up to nerves in the stump, and when you touch the sensors, it feels like you're touching your foot whch is no longer even there. I can't do it any justice with my crappy explanation, just look it up if interested. They can also move their feet using their minds. This is not some far away technology, they already do it, but the legs are mega expensive. Socialized health care could never afford them, but I hope the price comes down.

I’m a first year electronics and computer science student, and I’m really interested in prosthetic hands. It’s such an interesting complex problem that could help so many people. The biggest issue is actually how to control the prosthetics but we’re constantly trying new ways to do that

Kid/young adult it's ok. When she hits 20s, things will start going down from there. Trust me, I know.

This is very encouraging. I am a double amputee myself and I was blessed with twin boys. This girl shows that just because you are an amputee, you should not pity party yourself

She’s so inspirational and courageous

That girl has a great smile! I hope she always keeps it and I also hope prosthetics will get better and better. In the far future I do think we will be able to grow limbs as well as internal organs using the patients own cells. Research in all of the above is on-going. It's great to see her with out with her dad. She seems to have great upper body strength. They inspire each other

People like her are so special that they are needed to be on this planet.

The fact that this girl doesn’t care about being different makes me smile. As a young adult with spastic hemiplegia cerebral palsy, I’ve had grown up grappling with the struggles that can come from being different. Kids have asked me if I had a broken leg because they noticed that I wear an ankle foot orthotic on my left leg. Being different is awesome, yet it’s a hard challenge to deal with when people point out your differences and don’t take the time to allow themselves to learn and understand why I have such differences. I also have ADHD, anxiety, and persistent depressive disorder. The anxiety and persistent depressive disorder came as a result of constant social isolation and difficulties with social skills. I have hope that this young girl will ultimately be able to avoid bullying and be able to do whatever she wants to do in life.

C'mon you got to be real... How can the light of an inspiring happiness be truly appreciated unless there also have be a crippling deep sadness to be its counterpart. You think you can be happy until your hurt but then again you'll be happy and really glad your not hurt... If someone is sad then let them cry it out...
