At my high school the teachers didn’t grade us equally if not everyone did their part. They asked team members to give feedback on other team members’s contributions. I was brutally honest because I usually carried the group.

If this becomes a core memory I hope their parents showed pride and gave comfort afterwards, otherwise she's just gonna hate doing… anything like this at all. All in all it went well. There was no disaster. I still remember when the big building with a show going on shouted on the mic LOOK A CHILD WITHOUT PANTS as i was 3 and walking bottomless out of the car and my parents assured me it was another child and in retrospect f××× everything just erase that day from my memory or my life altogether thank you very much

I adored the little one in blue, who kept pointing to her as thou to say "she's distressed. Someone help her." And looking at the audience in confusion because they just laughed and clapped. Understood that someone needed comforting but didn't understand the resulting emotional response from the crowd. Tried several times to help... wanted to give them all a hug. To young to be preforming to such a huge crowd.

You shouldn’t laugh. It’s clear that she’s the one who’s had the routine drummed into her so hard that it’s not only sucked all the joy out of performing but the fear of getting it wrong and what happens to her as punishment is causing her to have a break down. And at such a young age. Pray for this child.

I'm a teacher she was overwhelmed by the audience , but at the same time she wanted to do well . She does well under pressure.She will do well in any endeavor she decides to undertake in life.

I know what you mean. My mom signed me up for a stupid musical when I was kid and my music teacher wouldn't let me quit because I was the only child who had a gorgeous voice. That and gave me 2 solos. It was terrible.😑

Sure she cried because of how overwhelming it was to perform in front of a crowd and the noises, but she pulled through. She's going to be a hard worker when she's older because she perseveres well. An example of real bravery for someone that small. What a trooper and an inspiration! Kids are so self-conscious, they will always think you’re laughing at them. If they don’t think what they’re doing is funny, they’ll cry. Cover your laughter with cheers and encouragement

I didn’t bother to say then you would have taught your child to give up when things get scary. This will be something they can say when other things are hard. Remember when you cried but you finished your dance and everyone was cheering.

It's about having the perseverance, resilience, courage and strength to work your way through those uncomfortable feelings/trying situations.

She deserves a standing ovation, a tissue and a BIG HUG!

I remember being this age and doing dance rehearsals and performances. Kids don’t react like that unless they’re under pressure and afraid of getting in trouble. If you want to be there, even if the audience is overwhelming, you don’t cry on stage and perform through the tears. She’s like two. The “group project” joke is funny, but she’s not actually old enough to understand that. This video is sad :(

Thank you! I was thinking the same thing. To be honest, I had to stop the video for a bit because it felt morbid. There’s a child crying, and then you just hear a bunch of laughter in the background. Imagine being scared and all you get in response is laughter? No comfort at all. I’m not trying to say this is abuse or anything- it just is sad that a child is crying and yet is the only one even completely the choreo. I wonder if she already has pressure placed on her to succeed and/or if she has anxiety surrounding large crowds. Some other comments were saying she is professional and has a “great work ethic” for dancing through her crying. What kind of future are we creating if we think it’s encouraged for kids to continue something that causes them distress? It’s so toxic. There’s a difference in pushing through obstacles and overcoming hardships versus continuing with something that causes mental and physical distress. This video is so sad

She represents everyone who going through a tough time, but still carrying on with life. It's actually funny, crying with all the pressure still dancing but at the same time inspiring.

She’s that 1 person in every group project

I really think she was just scared of the loud sounds. If you notice, she stops crying momentarily before the 2nd song comes on, but seems more scared during the 2nd performance because the audience is constantly clapping and it's a lot louder than the first performance was. She didn't seem particularly scared of the people at first, but when the clapping started up, she went to hide behind one of the other little girls.

Jokes aside adults are clapping to a thing thats torturing someone whatever the reason is. What do these adults want from them at their age to memorize things like literally...are you even adults bcz this thing doesnt make you look like it at all. They have to memorize things all the time in their life for future so let them be at peace atleast in this age but no you all are setting stage to show people the so called choreo you made them learn in whatever way to show their cuteness even if they ball their eyes out on stage, stand still, do nothing. At end of the day its a toddler who cant remember all the stuff let them live at peace atleast and eliminate such type of trend. My son would be doing the same thing. Way too loud but wants to perfume task he’s been training to do. Poor little one. She was absolutely adorable and a great dancer though!!

Apparently when I was 2 years old I had to learn a poem, my mom forced me to memorize it word by word I spent a lot of time crying And when the day came, I was the only one that remembered the poem But she didn't feel proud, she felt regret for putting me through that at such a young age I hope that child is fine

I was thinking the same! The level of overwhelm is what hit her in the moment - but she was able to carry on because you let the overwhelm emotion out. I think I used to work that way - still would, but now - cannot allow the emotion side out... adulting hey? Now we hold that side in, and break at home when alone!

IKR! I'd take a zero if I knew I didn't have to do report in front of the class. I always wondered how did the other kids did it.. I just couldn't. I was extremely shy. After high school I ran into a classmate & he said I was stuck up.. I told him no I was just too scared to talk to anyone. But after working as a cashier (started @ 19) I began coming out of my 🐚 shell b/c I *had* to say _hello_ to everyone which made me realize it wasn't so difficult afterall.

@olivia o. of course this doesn’t apply to everyone, but I am an introvert and I find that shyness is a symptom of introversion. When I said ‘all’ I didn’t mean it in the literal sense; it was more of a hyperbolic statement. I personally don’t appear like this on the outside giving a public presentation, but this is how I feel on the inside because I don’t like having people’s attention on me for prolonged periods of time, and I’m sure many introverts can relate to that.

She _hates_ it but she's being obedient. That's what I see. She is angry and sad and had no idea this was going to be the end result of so much practice: _people staring and laughing,_ while mom's in the audience, doing the "moves" with her! It's sad and sweet. You just never know how a child will react! She's adorable. They all are. Thank you for posting!

What is scary is reading all of these comments from people who clearly have never had kids in preschool, yet are making wildly inappropriate comments on the parents, teachers, and how the kids are being "abused". Wow! You'll be in for a shock if you ever do have kids and put them in preschool or dance classes with year end recitals, etc. (Don't you recall being in one??? No? Maybe it wasn't so traumatic afterall!)

I think it’s sad. I don’t know why people admire it. People become ill by pushing toooo much through their emotions to finish something. She’s a toddler and this is not exactly the foundation I’d want to grow my child on. She’s cute, ya, but she’ll grow up to be an adult. There’s many more years after this one. A reassuring hug would have sufficed as she cried throughout the whole thing.

She was really carrying the dance cause I didn’t notice there were 5 of them until 2:40 💀😂

I love how blissfully unaware and distracter the other kids are and she's just there carrying the whole show on her back while having a baby mental breakdown😭

"Omg listen to the laughter, my career just started & I have to carry the show myself. I'm so going solo after this."

Children are people first, not performers. No small child should be forced to be subjected to this trauma for the entertainment of adults. The pressure of performing in those countries lead children to unalive themselves as adults or at best lead an unfulfilled life. My heart goes out to these babies.

Despite her tears, remaining on stage shows how brave she really was. Usually kids that age would just refuse to dance and would've hung on tightly to their parents or teacher since it seemed she was afraid to begin with. And yet, she persevered through the tears. Kudos to lil mama! She's going places.

@@MilkyWhite1 Omg get a grip. What a bizarre place to go. This was likely her first dance recital and she was doing what any typical kid that age might do when suddenly confronted with an audience. And her parents care enough to put their little girl in extra-curricular activities like dance classes. Something millions of people do every day....for fun. Should her parents just sit her in front of a tv or computer? How did that work out for you? Is that why you're so negative?

Either your parents did that to you or you do it to your kids and force them to do horrific dancing at probably 2-3 years old, that's the only way I can believe you think this is okay.

That baby represents me going through everyday life. 😩 Seriously though, bless her sweet heart to keep dancing even though she was probably terrified. I hope she got a big hug and lots of kisses after that. She deserves the world! 💜

I was literally going to cry of how cute it is. Girl next to her: What in the world are you doing? The crying girl: My best 😭

This reminds of my daughter when she was about that age. She was doing a dance routine using pompoms, but all the streamers on her pompom started to fall off, and she kept dancing, but she was getting more and more upset, as most of her pompom ended up in a pile on the floor. Finally she ran off the stage. It was so cute but so heartbreaking at the same time. This happened a long time ago, around 1989

@@8698gil I’m sure your intentions were good, as were the intentions of all these parents who treat their children like performing monkeys. It’s even sad when we make the monkeys do it. Perhaps some monkeys enjoy performing, as do a small number of these children if they happen to have extroverted personalities. I suspect most children, completely dependent on parents, are only doing it because of coercion. I’m glad that now 33 years later society seems to be more aware of the negative effects

I can relate to her. Haha. This is what I feel like most of the time: waking up early, going to work, thinking about all the bills I need to pay. Meanwhile, my mind is wanting to go back to sleep.

Jokes aside adults are clapping to a thing thats torturing someone whatever the reason is. What do these adults want from them at their age to memorize things like literally...are you even adults bcz this thing doesnt make you look like it at all. They have to memorize things all the time in their life for future so let them be at peace atleast in this age but no you all are setting stage to show people the so called choreo you made them learn in whatever way to show their cuteness even if they ball their eyes out on stage, stand still, do nothing. At end of the day its a toddler who cant remember all the stuff let them live at peace atleast and eliminate such type of trend. Even though a sinhle comment cant do anything but still people should be aware bcz anxiety, traumas any type of mental issue we are not born with it such incidents are the cause of it which only make them bigger in future and we dont know how any incident will effect every person.

I’m so conflicted. I was smiling and my heart was breaking all at the same time. I never considered myself a “helicopter mom,” but I think someone would have needed to hold me down if my child was performing and having a meltdown. She’s adorable and did an excellent job under pressure.

Kids should be allowed to be sad. They aren't broken when they have feelings that make you uncomfortable. You don't need to "fix" them for feeling perfectly reasonable feelings.

As a mother it's not uncomfortable when my kid is sad because I don't want her to have feelings, it's uncomfortable because I have that natural instinct to want her to always be happy and never have to feel sad a moment in her life. Obviously that's not realistic and there will be times when she's sad and I will be able to do nothing about it but that damn sure isn't going to stop me from trying because I'm her mom and I love her more than anything in this world. I wish I had a parent like that when I was growing up. I was sad way more than I needed to be and also scared and angry and hurt.

This breaks my heart in pieces. It made me tear up. I just want to hug her and maybe stand or dance with her. I'dk why she's crying but this is heartbreaking. I'm a softee I guess .

Actually, it is quite possible to teach a toddler a short dance routine. Normally at least one teacher would be in their sight on or near the stage or in the wings, doing the routine with them but not always. Often there is the one stand out who just owns the stage! (Although it's not usually the one who is crying ... And there's not always one crying, either. 😊)

This is what being forced into a child actor career is like symbolized. I hope after this her parents/guardians really consult her about hobbies like this.

Precious little girl. He is going to far, what a cutie. I would have run up and held her tight.

I want to live my life with the levity of the girl who smiles and does nothing, but I'm the girl who cries and does everything while everyone thanks me.

I agree, that baby is terrified. She's continuing the routine out of fear. Her parents should have taken her off the stage instead of allowing this to go on.

My emotions were so conflicted - so cute, funny and sad at the same time.

Ugh, I just can't with everyone laughing and cheering when the little one is so distressed and crying.....! Like.....WHY?? Heartbreaking. It's not healthy. Young children are still PEOPLE and deserve to be treated as such and not treated as objects for adults' entertainment while having their emotions completely ignored.

She is a fighter, a survivor and a legend in the making.

Her parents made her practice this until the wee hours of the morning when her feet were bloody and she fell asleep still practicing. She was traumatized, but knew if she didn’t perform she’d have hell to pay.

Chinese babies and kids are so cute. Intelligent too. I am thankful because my 80+ aged mother keeps looking at their videos and smiling happily, saying they are so good. ❤️

She's so adorable. Just reminded me of myself. So emotional when stress and anxiety kicks in. And always end up performing it the right way than others. I could see her a beautiful future ahead of her with her courage to win her challenges. God bless all these cuties! ❤️
