THE LINE Is Having Some Major Problems

THE LINE Is Having Some Major Problems
In 2020, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had three indigenous men from the Howeitat tribe jailed indefinitely. 2 years later, they were sentenced to death for not vacating the lands for “The Line.” and being critical of this new project NEOM city.
So, what exactly is The Line? On October 24, 2017, the Prince had announced that there would be a new, futuristic city inside Saudi Arabia called Neom or The Line. A city unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. One that must come to completion no matter what happens.
In this video, we’re going to be digging deeper into NEOM The Line, a project inside Neom, which could just be the most dangerous megaproject in all of history.

The Line is being built in phases with the first Phase expecting to house 1 million people. I highly doubt it goes beyond this, KSA simply doesn’t have the funds to see the line and all the other projects that are part of Neom completed….unless they want to sell off a lot of Armaco. At 200m wide it’d going to let in about 30 min of natural light a day and almost none of that will filter to the bottom floors. Vertical living is not terribly efficient….it will require a lot of energy moving people up and down all the time and the number of elevators and escalators is going to be astronomical. The maintenance costs of these alone are going to be huge. Add in all the other new technologies that are being proposed p, and I agree, I don’t think a place like this could see a profit and that assuming people actually move there and it is fully occupied. This design has not flexibility other than length. It’s all or none. What happens when KSA no longer has oils to hedge loses. Even Dubai has had to rely on Abu Dhabi to bail them out with oil money. Viral or bacterial diseases would spread easily and rapidly in a building like this!

After a horrendous 2022, shell-stunned financial backers have misfortunes to recover and a lot to consider, as an expansion report and a pile of different information did close to nothing to change assumptions that the Central bank would probably keep climbing intrest rates regardless of whether the economy dials back, And that implies more red ink for portfolios for the principal quarter of year 2023. How might I benefit from the ongoing unstable market, I'm currently at a junction choosing if to exchange my $250k security/stock portfolio

Center around two key targets. In the first place, remain safeguarded by realizing when to offer stocks to cut misfortunes and catch benefits. Second, get ready to benefit when the market turns around.I suggest you look for the direction a representative or monetary consultant.

The most densely populated city on the planet is Manila in the Philippines with approx. 46,178 people per sq. Km. With 9 million people on a 34 sq. Km footprint, Neom will have about 264,000 people per sq. Km. That is 5.7 time more dense than Manila. Do you think that will cause any problems? Oh but they are living vertically you say. The problem with Neom vertical interior construction is that it is a 170 Km long FIRE TRAP. Fire loves to burn vertically with an unlimited supply of fresh air feeding it from below. Just think of The Line as a 9 million person Penal Colony from which there is no escape.

I gave you a thumbs down, because 99.9% of all your questions that you asked have relativelly simple answers. So your family grown, and you need more rooms. Well what do you do at the moment? You move to a larger apartment, if not in the same place you are now then in another building or area, duh! So what citys do you know of that have farmlands in the CBD? I didnt realise that there was farmlands in manhatten!!!! Oh wait there arnt any. Wiith having your ciry in a line it would free up alot of land outside the line that can be turned into farm land. Your video was good, but your questions you aske show that you dont have much knowlage on how things work or run. SO all your friends live closer than a 20min drive?

A bridge can cost more than a 20-stores building, unlike public infraestructure, buildings can actually be prefabricated and copy pasting all of them (to basically do the line) makes it all the more cheaper. Also this is not a fully public project, it uses private investors as well.

So it's just a regular city but better in every way? I'm not sure how you're not understanding this. 0 emissions is not restricted to cars. There's going to be a train system underground to visit people on far ends, you even showed it while complaining about it. It has no roof over it so going outside is still not an issue. The miles of desert are normal there anyway. It's clearly not confined since it's larger then most cities. You literally have no idea what you're talking about.

No, it's a stupid design. There is a reason every city is 2d. And every ant colony and beehive 3d. More dimensions is better for interconnectivity and efficient travel. Restricting yourself to 1d needlessly looks cool but is a terrible design, and this is true based on the mathematics.

Watch the video on Neom by Adam Something or really anyone who knows how urban planning works. You’re the one who doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Lines are the least efficient layout for cities and come with implications you haven’t thought through, not to mention that this whole thing is in a desert which means it will require lots of water for upkeep of all those green spaces, agriculture, and daily living. You’re so focused on the benefits they’re marketing that you haven’t looked at what it actually takes to build and maintain this project. There’s a reason attempts at projects like this fail and it’s always because aesthetics and greenwashing come before practicality.

I can already foresee what's going to happened. No matter where you go, there are always classes of different people. The rich will stay afloat and the poor will be buried, just like the mole people in Las Vegas, the workers that build the World Cup or the workers that build Dubai. You can't be rich without the poor and the poor can't be poor without the rich. The poor is going to riot just like any typical Robinhood movie.

I'm excited for someone to try something new and being that you are a KZread channel not someone how has built a Nation before, I will be smart to state "you do not know anything or what you are talking about" Best of luck to the country and forward movement even if it meant rolling over some people in the way. I can care less, about the internal order of another country, it is their laws. You know them so you follow or leave the country and move to a place which has the laws which support you ideas. Or fight for your ideas with your life, this is the real world. Lastly the west has old city planning out of date, more Asian countries are way more developed.
