Ya, I bet. I've been hitted on the bridge of my nose by my cat once out of her being angry with me, and it did hurt a little bit when she did it to me, but lesson learned. And message that she sent me from all that in one one smack bat from clawless fore front pawed foot I had felt loud and crystal clear and I never bothered her again after that.

The fact that she sounds like she's actually meowing makes it even better for me.

I always see toothless as a dog and light Fury as a cat, let me explain. Toothless has always been very kind and open to everybody and is very loyal to their owner, he likes spending time playing and has a very goofy personality. He is protective of the ones he loves and shows dominance to scare the dragons off. Light Fury is the complete opposite, she's shy and doesn't like interfering with others. She has a picky way of choosing who to be around and needs Time to trust others. She also loves being clean and as you know cats lick themselves all day everyday. Toothless doesn't mind swimming or getting dirty. But overall they're both great it just seemed logical to me! 😅

See, I grew up with siamese cats, so him being based on cats made sense to me XD. All my siamese cats were always extremely attached to their owner (I mean, following them everywhere, getting sad/bored when they left, constantly interacting with them) and were really playful and goofy, much like Toothless. They liked play fighting/defending their possessions (bags and boxes-- territory, if you will) from other cats, too. I've been told before that siamese acted a lot more like dogs than cats, and were really high-energy, so I guess that's just one breed being special lol. But that's why them basing him on a cat makes total sense to me

Nah, toothless is still a cat for me (maybe an orange one? but still a cat) In the first movie he needed a long time to trust a human, but all the other features he got later like being loyal to the owner and playing are also visible in cats' behavior. People usually think of cats and dogs as full opposites, but cats can also be energetic, playful and attached to their owners.

Well, actually, if you check with the animators, they based Toothless's personality on a panther, and the light-fury's on a cat! How fun.

Just like real cats! Seriously. If you have the option, _never_ be on the business end of a pissed-off cat. It understands where your soft spots are, it _can_ climb you like a tree before you realize what happened, and it has a jillion freakin' built-in knives that push bacteria deep into muscle tissue when bitten and clawed. The rates of blood infection and necrosis from cat bites and scratches is no fuckin' joke. Toothless is actually a really good example about how familiarity can make you completely forget how dangerous something can be, and to not forget to always respect that.

Reminds me of the time my female Russian Blue cat had batted me on the bridge of my nose to make me quit teasing her and it worked cause the sudden pain from her clawless fore front right paw batting me on the bridge of my nose had hurt and made me stop and move away from her then leave out of the room and out of the doorway and down the hall and out of sight to leave her alone because if that was what she wanted me to do then I just did just that. Cats don't even need to have words to express how they feel towards you or other cat's. They can even mimic us in saying our names or just simple words such as hi or no and hello. Apparently, at least on some of em they can do that. My own second female tortoise shell cat can say the mama word, but it comes out sounding like rawa. It still spurred me into action, though, to go see what was wrong and if she was alright in response to her saying the cat version of mama in a desperate voice.

Well, Toothless is based off of a cat. And when he got his first tail and was bouncing around, they actually put tape on a cats tail to simulate Toothless in that scene. Most of Toothless’s noises are cat noises that were modified to sound more dragon like. 😊

Tho the designers did make the light fury based off a cat's behaviours, as well as toothless. Actually I'd like to think toothless and the light furies as Axolotl+Bat animal with cat-like behaviours.

Funfact: In the German movies from How to train your dragon "Nightfury" is "Nightshadow" (Nachtschatten) and "Lightfury" is "Dayshadow" (Tagschatten) I kinda like it in German more xD

Toothless has always reminded me of a dog and the Light Fury has always reminded me of a cat. I also like to call the Light Fury Celeste or Celestia cause I think it suits her and they never tlly gave a real name, so that's what I call her instead of saying Light Fury all the time

i like how the dragon movements are modeled after animals, like cats and dogs etc, but the light fury’s character was WAY too cat like for me. It made me forget multiple times that she was a dragon, a REPTILE, and on top of her design it just tied the whole “bad character design” package altogether.

IDK about all that, but my only problem with her design is that she doesn’t really have defined scales. Toothless is very cat-like too, but he also has clearly visible scales to remind you that, cat-like qualities aside, he’s a dragon. The Light Fury has smooth skin it seems, so she doesn’t really feel like an actual dragon the way Toothless does. Light Furies are a sub-species of Night Fury, so I feel like her scales should be more defined like Toothless’.
