What I love about Deku is that he teaches the viewers a lesson. Just because you don't have powers, doesn't mean you should give up on your dreams. Lots of people can relate to Izuku, including me. I can relate to him, because we're both nerdy, love heroes, love comic books, want to achieve our dreams, never give up on our dreams and want to make the world a better place.

In izukus bio for the school, he lists his Quirk as "Superpower" which is fun and all but something i thought of based on the fact using his quirk hurts him for a long time is the quirk name: Backlash or Recoil. Recoil would work really well, the more energy he puts into an attack, the more self damage it does.

Mad respect! He not only updated it but also focused solely on Deku without spoilers to other storylines that connect with his. His attention to detail definitely will give you all you need to know about Deku! Great video great work! I’m caught up in the manga and this is perfect and clearly a lot of work was put into it.

Man if this video is over 3 hours long, I wonder how many hours of recording was put into this video. After all, even the most experienced actors/voice actors have blooper moments. Not to mention the time it must have taken to gather all the clips of MHA/BNHA events and combine them together. Lots of respect for The Amagi for making this video.

I've never watched a single episode of MHA, so I figured I'd find a random video about it. I saw this on my feed and clicked it, not registering how LONG it was. I've cooked lunch, eaten it, and am settling down at my desk to listen to you speak about a character I'll probably never really follow. However, one thing is certain: This is one of the most compelling anime of modern times. I like the way the story progresses and, based solely on your narration, I think it's a great show with plenty of good morals. Thanks for this tremendous effort! It couldn't have been easy.

the amount of burden deku is trying to carry all on his own, with barely even a lot of training with all these new quirks, the fact that he loses himself and the meaning of being human as he goes about longer and longer trying to achieve his goal, he knows he doesn't have time anymore to be that happy go lucky kid and basically ran through puberty in a few steps it is honestly sad to see him walk down a horrific and mentally troubled vigilante's path, but this story has me hyped af

I swear I have never felt so bad for a character in my life izuku is precious to me but the whole world was against him even as a kid because of that he was constantly abused and over worked leading him to not care if he got hurt or not and people he looked up to pushed this ideal of selflessness on him. Now he doesn’t even have his friends to hold him back and the most heartbreaking part is that he’s just not his old all might adoring self anymore I haven’t seen past this part but at this point this boy needs decades of every type of therapy imaginable

well your not wrong cause the Mangaka did say in an interview that he based all might on Spider-Man, his favorite suoer hero. This in turn, mean that Deku is similarly comparable to Spider-Man.

I love the direction Horikoshi is going with the manga currently. Like before I enjoyed the story before the war/final act but it was kind of cliched but I still enjoyed it (please don’t attack me) but currently I have never seen anything like it. The hero/protagonist becoming more and more twisted and gaining the mentality that if I push everyone they will be safe and happy and even if they aren’t it will all be fixed when I win making him very interesting as a character and especially as a protagonist.

I wouldn’t say it’s rare. It’s actually a pretty common direction to take any type of hero character. What I like with Izuku is that he doesn’t do it to condescend to anyone else. He’s just a genuinely terrified teenager. Terrified of losing the people he loves. His arc up to this point makes sense. You have him spend at least a decade of his early life being quirkless and unconsciously internalizing how that also makes him useless according to society’s standard. Compounded especially by Bakugous vicious bullying. Then you give this kid a quirk that’s sandwiched between huge expectations and responsibility WHILE he’s playing catch up with said quirk, trying to find a way to use it without destroying himself THEN all of that is piled on by All Might not having his quirk anymore and AFOs threat be a close, tangible thing Izuku having a mental breakdown is warranted.

Well, I wouldn't say they are weak because mha has a considerably lower power scale than most other Shonen. Sure, the pros are not as strong as the captains of black cover or certain 'master' type charcters of shows like Naruto or Bleach, but neither are the enemies of mha. So it's still evened out. It was probably a choice on Horikoshi's part not to make them all planet-breakers, which he has the right to make considering that it's his world. It also makes the world more grounded, knowing that a sword strike will actually cut or kill someone instead of just sending them flying as if it was a blunt strike through a mountain and them being completely fine. Basically it all comes down to Power scaling. These characters would be babies in something like dragon ball or black clover, but are strong in mha. It's all up to the writer
