For a genius, Gero was kinda stupid wasn't he? Transplanting his brain into a body with considerably less potential than his earlier creations (16, 17, 18, Cell...), leaving everything to calculation instead of monitoring, giving away his plan to his enemies, etc...

The android saga from dragon ball Z, that arc was one of the best. I remember growing up watching as a kid..

I honestly preferred the Android saga over the later Cell saga of the Artificial human arc. There was suspense in the saga, expanded lore, and even the settings and environments were different from the usual desert wasteland battlegrounds in other sagas. The Cell games had Gohan going Ss2, but the plot is not as interesting.

@@andrewgarfield9898basically how it was. The creator of android 8 in the anime was filler, and 18’s creator wasn’t mentioned in the OG dragon ball, so he was definitely behind the scenes.

Nah I love Dr.Gero.not his character, but his contribution to the storylines. Hell, they even use him as a reason to bring in Android 13,one of my favorites. He's also the reason we have Cell, my favorite character. As well as 17 and 18 who are favorites among many, which in the long run saved the universe as 17 won the tournament. So we have Gero to thank for that.

@@LordMalice6d9 that would be dope. Shame that won't happen. Probably for the best. DragonBall Z gives me a cozy and comfy feeling so probably best to leave those characters there instead of bringing them back in Super's repetitive formula

Tbh the most evil villain in the entire franchise. Dude made Cell man. The ability to create something that terrible is beyond evil and insane. What makes it funnier is that Cell was the ultimate backup plan that was never needed. Just for insurance 😭. The androids were clearly more than enough but he made that OP ass character.

I bet Gero would have murdered Red if he ever learned that the commander wanted to use the dragon balls to be taller. He’d probably have used a special poison and maybe even had it fixed so he’d be made the full leader. As I doubt Gero would want to share the position of leader with staff officer black.

Dr. Gero is the one human/android whose heart was truly dark akin to Frieza, Cell, Kid Buu. Goku would be more than justified to kill him if he really wanted to do so.

It's a retcon, Dr Gero as a character and concept didn't exist yet in the og Dragon Ball, later in DBZ Toriyama introduced us to Dr Gero and tried his hardest to convince us that he was there always since DB and that's why Gero wants to to Kill Goku. Every additional material for Dragon Ball be character guides, games and commentaries tries to organically include Dr Gero in the origins of the Red Ribbon Army. The black character you are talking about is Staff Officer Black (Later named Commander Black after Commander Red's death) who was the final antagonist of the Red Ribbon Army Saga in og Dragon Ball
