Alexander the Great's life is such a fascinating subject for a documentary! His conquests and strategies reshaped the ancient world and have influenced military tactics and political landscapes for centuries. It's always intriguing to explore how his early life and education under Aristotle shaped his future as a conqueror. The blend of history, culture, and sheer ambition in Alexander's story makes it an endlessly captivating topic. Can't wait to see what insights and perspectives Part 1 offers on his extraordinary journey! 🌟📚🌍

18:10 ''Bucephalus'' story is a great metaphor. That ''stubborn'' stallion symbolizes the Greek states; majestic but fearfull of their own shadow. Many tried to enforce the horse for a ride but none understood what is the root of the problem and failed to ride him. When he faced the Stallion to the Persia/East/Sun he let those fears fall behind and have found his soothing goal. That story tells us his vision and narrative in Greek politic scene. It's not about the charisma of a person.

Likewise learning the history of our country, the foriegn invassion in us, thier exploitation of our natural resources, thier influences to our economy , etc. Of course, the history made by our presidents, like martial law, may lessons be inculcated in our minds, so that it shall not be repeated again.

Cannot believe how so many historians discount Alexander as the person behind his father's killing. He had massive motive and had a serious fall out with his father shortly before. The killer only the most flimsy of excuses for Regicide and almost nothing to gain (except if Alexander/mom had told him he would be rewarded graciously for the act). Meanwhile Alexander stood to gain everything - or lose it all by inaction. The killer fled - and somehow conveniently it was Alexander and his friends who caught up with him in short order and "unfortunately" killed him on the spot so he could not be interrogated for a possible wider palace plot (remember the Macedonian courts - including Alexander's - were rife with leadership plots). While also forcing all of Philippe's loyal generals who were unprepared to immediately declare for Alexander himself or risk getting slain too. Afterwards the new wife and child are slain. Was a nice result for an evening's work for the new King to celebrate in style.

Or his mother had it done regardless of how Alexander felt , though I’ve always believed what you have wrote to be true I always thought Alexander pulled that off , only a fool would think otherwise he had everything to gain and everything to lose from that exactly what you said to the T I always believed the same , but it is a possibility his mother had it done regardless of Alexander agreeing to it or not , she most likely knew it needed to be done & for her son to be catapulted to the lime light , there are a lot of people in this world who control things thru there children that are in power manipulation is very much a talent & she could’ve knew Alexander’s heart would’ve got him killed as well as her so she could’ve took it into her own hands & then just let Alexander fill in the rest , especially the fact they were at her family’s wedding when Philip got killed (i believe that’s where they were) so eathier Alexander or his mother or both lol but for a fact it wasn’t anyone but them 2 suspects only a fool would think otherwise all the cards before & after philips death align with those 2 being the culprit lol but I absolutely agree with everything you said it’s crazy how people & historians have just simply looked over it as a possibility that him and his mother were involved😂 but in my eyes you hit the nail on the head totally agree with you 👌🏻💯

The former capital of Alex grandfather's ( Archelaos etc) state was called Aiges that meant the main trade basis of everything, along with being poor in general as a state before finding pangaeon treasures, and reformations mainly based on Phil's copying Thebes, made the rest of Greeks look down on their peasant Dorian relatives ( still nowadays insult in use), especially as phill (and Alex) loved women. unthinkable for a greek king to get married 7 times, and Alex an other 3. yet looking at Persian girls can't blame him for doing so

He took a backwater kingdom to conquer the entirety of the known world, never once losing a battle against numerically and technologically superior foes; and going against the greatest empire of the time. Even just the throne of Macedonia he fought for, having assassinated all of his siblings that were in line to take the throne before him due to him being illegitimate. Alexander seized the advantages he had, but he very much created his own circumstances.

Aristotle should have communities with Persion scholar's and educated diplomat's and dignatarirs ....on visits to Macadonia and Alex also observed these connective exchanges this is why he commissioned same exchanges with indian seer's in his anterage.....the ones who were narrow minded Alex gave instruction they were free to return to Greece if could not find it in there heart to be truly open minded about this

Not at a wedding Infront of everyone and getting killed just afterwards. But yeah Alexander and his mother are suspicious as hell so your suspicious are credited. Their actions after Phillips death are probably influenced by the amount of killing & betrayal that had previously happened for the throne.

Diodorus Siculus, writing almost 3 centuries later, and w/ a heavy ‘bias’ --- given how Rome had by then separated Hellas /Greece into the main provinces of Achaia & Macedon, alongside Epirus --- Diodorus had apparently ‘enriched’ a scenario pitting one Athenian in Alexander ‘s company w/ a FELLOW HELLENE ‘Macedonian’ (…inasfar as the latter were DEMONSTRABLY of Dorian stock; akin to Corinthians, Spartans & Epirotes, as ALL 5th-century B.C. inscriptions will EVER indicate) …wherein he ‘enhances’ the tension + denouement (i.e.: the sheer ‘drama’) of a simple ‘personal challenge’ (‘twixt 2 Hellenes in Alexander ‘s presence) by UNSCHOLARLY alluding to them as ‘Greeks & Macedonians’ (…likely since the latter had ‘dominated’ Hellas ‘afore their conquest by Rome; wherewith it ‘d been somehow ‘acceptable’ to FANTASIZE of the two as ‘distinct’ elements of the Hellenic Era)! **Apparently, it ‘d been a ‘habit’ of those writing for Roman audiences to ‘avail themselves’ of the ‘perceived rivalry’ (which made for ‘great theatre’) ‘twixt Athenians & Macedonians 3 centuries earlier --- …given how they ‘d fought W/ HELLENIC /GREEK ALLIES ON BOTH MACEDON ‘S + ATHENS ‘S SIDES --- for Hellas /Greece ‘s ‘hegemony’ (+ regional business ‘interests /monopolies’) whilst Phillip still lived! **WANNABE-MACEDONIANS’ (…i.e.: those NEGATING their ‘true’ Bulgar origins) will EMPLOY either this ELSE Rufus ‘s FICTITIOUS Trial-of-Philotas (itself based on events during the reign of Emperor Tiberius --- ‘Livius.Org’) …etc. --- …basically ANYTHING THEY CAN GRASP AT --- …wherewith they As-Yet WON ‘T have to ‘relinquish’ their heretofore FANCIFUL claims (since post-WWII) on any ‘Macedonian’ past!! **Signed: A 'true' Macedonian whose forebears are from Hellas 's (Greece 's) north (...i.e.: ancient-Macedon-proper) since (likely) ancient times (...i.e.: pre-Bulgar + Slav incursions a whole MILLENIA later, withal)!

Demosthenes never said the "Macedonians were not Greek"-In his speech he said the Macedonians were barbaric-for being a Kingdom with slaves-not a democracy led by citizen councils. He meant this as a way of denigrating Philip and inciting the Athenians to battle. A generation before Demosthenes speech-The Macedonians had competed in the Greek only Olympics. There was never any doubt of the "Greekness" of Macedonia. It is of interest to note, Demosthenes was the first to turn and run in a battle with the Macedonians, fleeing for his life. The Macedonians and their "Greekness" were forever proven when in 1977 Andronikos found the Royal Tombs and the Burial tomb of Philip in Vergina, Northern Greece. A small Greek child can read the inscription on Philip's armor and shield. "Philipas Bassilias"- Philip the King in Greek. The ancient historians from the Egyptians, Jews, Persians, Hindu, Roman and Greek could not all be liars as to the Greekness of the Macedons. I am Macedonian from Mother Greece born in the Great city of Thessaloniki.

This " full historical" account falls very short of the full account of the accomplishments of ATG. This account is but the beginning of his life. He conquered as far as India, where he learned the advantages of using elephants for war, before moving on. To every major city he conquered, he would assign Greek delegates to govern. In doing so, ATG was responsible for spreading the Greek culture throughout the regions. His demise is as well as his sexual preferences, have been the topic of many scholars. Science leans towards typhoid and or malaria as the cause of his death. Given he married 3 times and was known to require a concubine in bed every night during his adult life. According to historians, he spent 13 days of sexual bliss with female tribe warrior. It's safe to say his sexual preference was clearly for women. ATG's remains laid in state for over 2 years before being transferred to his final resting place in none other than Alexandria, Egypt, where it remains to date.
