I agree with you. The water is too close to the kitchen & will be making a muddy mess. The house is always going to be wet & dirty. Move it a little further to the side or further to the front, but away from the your house. You want things to stay clean for the new baby soon to arrive. I hope you both work hard to buy some baby things. Baby clothes & baby blankets.
