I just switched up my Roth IRA to 50% SCHD, 25% SCHX, 25% SCHG, and my Roth 401k is 70% vanguard S&P 500 index, 20% vanguard growth index, and 10% vanguard international index. Seeking best possible ways to grow $350k into $1m+ before retirement, I'm 55.

Those sound like great picks! consider financial advisory so you don’t keep switching it up, top 3 payers for the month were $OHI, $KMI, and $EDP... not bad for 350k

You have a very valid point, I started investing on my own and for a long time, the market was really ripping me off. I decided to hire a CFA, even though I was skeptical at first, and I beat the market by more than 14.3%. I thought it was a fluke until it happened two years in a row, and so I’ve been sticking to investing via an advisor.

I've experimented with a few over the past years, but I've stuck with ‘’Aileen Gertrude Tippy” for about five years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s quite known in her field, look her up.

I lost over $70k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I found one source to recover my money, at least $10k profits weekly. Thanks Natalie Strayer.

As an lnvesting enthusiast, I often wonder how top level investors are able to become millionaires off investing. . I’ve been sitting on over $545K equity from a home sale and I’m not sure where to go from here, is it a good time to buy into stocks or do I wait for another opportunity?.

I started investing in stocks at 18, grew portfolio to $600k by 33. Recently, lost over 30% and want to mitigate risks. Also, plan to pay off my mortgage and want my portfolio to grow. What should I do for stable cashflow?

Right, a lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their emotions, no offense. During the covid-outbreak, I needed a good boost to stay afloat, hence researched for advisors and thankfully came across one with grit. As of today, my portfolio has grown by 25% every quarter since Q3 2020.

Mad facts, as of today, it's a better investment than a 401K and crypto currency. BUT keep in mind that when it comes to investing, ALWAYS keep your eyes peeled because the society and the government ALWAYS like to nerf stuff. I remember my grandparents telling me how easy it was to buy a house back in their 20's. Well those times are over because the government nerfed it with inflation. So keep investing in the S&P 500 but keep looking for other investment opportunities too
I bought $400 of Apple in 2005. I honestly forgot about it until 2018. It grew to 30% of my portfolio until I sold some this year to make it 19%. I've certaintly bought my share of duds so I really just got lucky with Apple. Buy the S&P 500 and call it a day.
My advice to new investors: Buy good companies stocks and hold them as long as they are good companies. Just do this and ignore the forecasts and market views which are at best entertaining but completely useless. By doing this, I have managed to grow my portfolio to $500k.

Buy and Hold the magnificent companies DON'T LOOK AT IT DAILY, Hold 5-10 years. These companies, like mutual funds, are diversified and financially strong. Also, work with a fiduciary financial advisor. I've done this for 7 years and reached a million dollars in April.

I'm afraid that I'm going to have to disagree -- strenuously. Investors buy one particular stock and get rich because they're better than the 16,000+ portfolio managers in the U.S. and saw something that they didn't see? The majority of those portfolio managers do not outperform the S&P 500 index, and none of them do it consistently. People think of Babe Ruth and how he held the home run record, but don't know that he also led the league in strikeouts. Material not too dissimilar to this video might be found in a video titled "The Life Changing Power of One Winning Powerball ticket." At least Chris recommended limiting your investment in this area to 10% "fun money." I think that a better solution would be to invest all of your funds into an inexpensive, broad-based index fund (such as a Total Market Index Fund) which requires basically no effort, and focus your efforts on increasing your income and/or reducing your expenses.
Another home-run from Chris

Investment it is the saving monies with other investors. You must ensure you are not saving monies with the group of poor peoples and they are not working all day and night they are parties and race cars and gambling and home less. They will collect every dime you join account with them for saving. Same stuff hold company stock as the form of saving.
I would be retiring or working less in 5 years, and I'm curious to know best how people split their pay, how much of it goes into savings, spendings or investments, I earn around $250K per year but nothing to show for it yet.

predicting short-term market movements is extremely difficult in reality. It also essentially requires the investor to be right twice: they must perfectly time both their entrance to and exit from the market.
@rapp-in1mz

That is exactly the reason I stopped taking advise from KZreadrs; in the long run, I only end up with a jumbled collection of stocks and bonds. Whereas all I needed to earn over $350k in less than two years was guidance from a true market expert.
