I'm obsessed with this song. The imagery of the lyrics is so mysterious and evocative so it's nice to know a bit about the origin. Peter needs to do a jazz album in this style.

WTh is up with Gary? If you want to protest the conflict on stage then just say "CEASEFIRE." That is the way you protest the killing of people in a war. To say "From the River to The Sea" on stage is not okay and purposefully excludes Jewish people. The history of that slogan is one of terror. Gary seems to like to voice his views on a lot of things without actually knowing anything about the topic which is typical narcism. He wants to talk about the book without reading the book. In the other video he claims that Black Africans built Hadrian's wall which is not true. There were some.. like a few hundred but he's going off like it was black-built. Someone at Rough Trade needs to get this man off his activist soap box before he gets the entire band cancelled. You can't just go spouting off ignorance and proclaiming it's true simply for your own ego. I mean I've never seen a drummer center themselves so much in a band except Taylor Hawkins which was actually warranted cause he was a good showman and people actually knew who he was.
