And funny enough, in Rollercoaster of Friendship, Flutterdash was heavily implied (not as much as Rarijack, but if you look at their scenes too, there was some blushing, some holding, etc)... Which I really did love, since I always shipped Flutterdash, it was always a cute opposites attract, same with Rarijack. And in the background of Rollercoaster of Friendship, I can't remember exactly where, but you can see two male characters holding hands. Equestria Girls REALLY was just gay shipping. There's also the potential of Octavia being bisexual as she is shipped with Vinyl, but someone mentioned, I think it was Discord, in The Big Mac Question, that Octavia went on a date, or did date Bulk Biceps. Once again, this is only just potential. I always found it EXTREMELY interesting that The Pony World and Equestria Girls had completely different relationships happening :)

Great video, but there were a few characters you missed: In Equestria Girls, there are two male characters, Curly Winds and Wiz Kid, who are in a cannon relationship. Also, Scootaloo’s aunts, Aunt Holiday and Auntie Lofty, are a cannon lesbian couple. The crew of the show also confirmed that King Sombra and Sunset Shimmer are meant to be bisexual. There’s also more LGBT characters in the comics but I know many people don’t view them as cannon.

Yeah, I watched it, but just speaking from overall character analysis I prefer the book smart and street smart trope that sci-twi and sunset have going on. I think when I have a bit of time I will try to compile all one eye-shine pony (and probably realize that some depends of moments or something, cause I have seen vector of big mac with two eye shine and feel too lazy to check right now if they were fan-made or not). Cause now it bothers me and I kind of want to see if I can find a theory by looking at all the one-eye shine ponies x'DD

For anyone who doesn’t know, the “Apple jack stand in”, is actually a Mlp Gordon Ramsay. You can see him in the spice up your life episode, he was in the Indian pony’s restaurant at the re-grand opening. This is just the equestria girls version of him!

Can’t believe you didn’t include Aunt Holiday and Auntie Lofty, Scootaloos aunts who are in a wlw relationship (appearing in the comics and the last season). They are probably one of the most explicit examples of queer people. Also it was said on Twitter that Sunset Shimmer and Sombra are bi (Sombra is more of a suggestion). Whilst they weren’t explicitly written to be queer in the show, it’s not like many of cast were explicitly written as straight either so it’s not like anything contradicts that (although I know Twitter confirmations aren’t the same as intentional queer rep). Also there are two mlm background characters in eg, Curly Winds and Wiz Kid who can be seen holding hands, blushing and are implied to be in a gay relationship throughout the different eg films and shorts. Also that one Big Mac episode, whilst seen as rather controversial by some in the queer community, I think is at least an homage to Drag and drag queen culture which I think is very connected to the queer community.

I don't think any of the m6 should *canonically* be in any romantic relationship, even though I'm all for shipping them.

The lack of canon romance at the start of the show actually made the fandom shipping a lot more fun than it probably would've been otherwise

On one hand, I want to make a note about your Rarity point. Unless they are ponies who travelled to the EQG world, they are not the same people as their EQG counterparts. Like, yeah duh, the Rarity and Applejack in Equestria are at most a decade older than their EQG counterparts. But still. The Rarity that is shown to have relationships with both her Applejack and the genderswapped Applejack sure as hell isn't the same person as the Rarity we know in the main show. But on the other hand, while we never get any actual showcase of mainline Rarity being on the LGBT spectrum in the show, I did have a discussion about this when I used to use Twitter with someone who happened to be lesbian. Despite how Rarity is boy crazy in the show, from Blueblood to Trenderhoof to miscellaneous stallions she flirts with to get her way (Don't even get me started on her one-sided relationship with Spike.), that person I spoke to pointed out that in the cases of some lesbians, they may go through a phase of being boy crazy before they begin to understand themselves more. That is to say, Rarity could be interpreted as a non-hetero just going through a phase in her young adulthood. Though she could be somewhere else on the spectrum. If we are going to go off of The Last Problem, Rarity is never shown to have a romantic partner in that episode. Even as a Twirity shipper, this *could* be interpreted as Rarity either moving away from the need or desire for romantic or sexual relations, or perhaps that she realized that she was somewhere on the aroace spectrum. I dunno. Food for thought.

I'm not sure if Toffee is Carmel's sister. The cutie mark looks far too identical for both ponies to be two individuals. Not once have I ever seen more than one pony with the same cutie mark, because ever pony's personality and preferences is always different. Even though I'd like to believe that Toffee and Carmel are the same pony, I hope Meghan McCarthy can confirm it. I was always under the impression that Starlight and Trixie could potentially be a female couple. And lets not forgot Scootaloo's aunts Aunt Holiday and Auntie Lofty who are romantically attracted to each other. Don't know if we'll see LGBT in Generation Five ponies.

There’s actually one official gay relationship in MLP, but technically it’s revealed in the Equestria Girls spin-off and not the original show. It’s Curly Winds nd Wizkid, you can find a compilation on KZread of their love story unfolding in the background.

I remember watching an episode from Equestria Girls (i don’t remember which one, sorry) where they were in a mall I think and in the background, there were two male characters that were exchanging presents (so probably a Christmas episode) and i just remember watching the episode, seeing that in the background, and then yapping to my friends abt them being gay because THEY WERE LITERALLY BLUSHING AT EACH OTHER. so yea. another example of gay in mlp (as a franchise). idk if they’re officially together so lmk if u guys know

Also with trixies eyes, all mares have the two little colored lines in their irises, but trixie doesn't. And if you look at the stallions, then you'll see they dont have the lines either. And that was clearly intentional seeing as it was never 'fixed' in later seasons

Amazing how you forgot to actually mention the Lyrabon "Best friends" scene where they romantically looked into each others eyes, truly a classic, at least it was included in the clips lmao.

Not sure if this counts because its only shown in Equestria Girls but there are two background characters one has a bowl cut and one has blue hair and the main scenes of them together i remember is one when they're setting up the dance bowl cut almost falls off a ladder and the guy with blue hair saves him and another where the guy with blue hair gets the guy with a bowl cut a present and they're blushing so they could count as gay Edit: I found a page on MLP forums about them with those scenes in there under the title "Two male background characters story of friendship (or more?)" it was made by Buck Testa back in march 2015

well tempest in the mlp: the movie only has one eye white thing, and just beroe Sia performs in the end, there is a male pony that's says way to go poines with chrismas lights as a cutiemark that has two eye white thingies. under further expectation there seem to me a lot of male ponys in the movie with two white eye thingies. I can't remember what the white eye thingies are at the moment hence white eye things.

Now call my bluff, but I have a feeling Rarijack was originally planned for Friendship is Magic at some point. It seems kind of implied they had a strong yet also kinda shaky friendship episodes like Season 1 Episode 8: Look Before You Sleep, and not to mention they seemed to paired up quite a lot for adventures and whatnot. Now when they started to push the whole Appledash dynamic it kind of took a backseat, which is leading me to believe that it's possible when Equestria Girls began production that perhaps the team thought they could have Appledash be canon in FiM, and Rarijack be canon in EQG. After all, in a lot of Equestria Girls following the releases of the movies and specials it was pretty common seeing Rarity and Applejack together rather than Applejack and Rainbow Dash. And Rollercoaster of Friendship, what's more for me to comment on? That entire special was literally a gigantic Rarijack dedication lol. Is it the most plausible and believable theory? Not exactly, and I admit it's a little shaky, but at least to me it makes some sense if that was the plan at some point.

I'll be honest, Rarijack still feels more plausible than apple dash in the main FiM show. They really dropped the ball, especially with the episode "Non-Compete Clause" being the last episode pairing Applejack & Rainbow Dash together The last time I felt like their dynamic could've been made romantic was... Fall Weather Friends...
